Disco dress advice required - I'm not proud

I've spent all day looking for something to wear to a disco/70s themed night out but am losing the will to live - please, please take pity on me.

Ideally my outfit will be of a flattering, possibly slightly slutty nature rather than a slavish 70s symphony in polyster.

I suit tailored 1950s style clothes in jewel colours. I am size 14, have big knockers and am a short arse so hot pants are RIGHT out. I am prepared to spend up to 150 quid.

I liked this

and this www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_54510+200924050_-1?breadcrumb=Home~Women~Occasion+%26amp;+evening+wear

but am suffering from 70s blindness - my night out is in your hands - thank you

oooooh I am loving the french connection one! You could go all Farah Fawcett flick and mountains of eye make up AND you would wear it again

Msarsebiscuit · 06/11/2010 16:54

Yes, I was toying with going for the old Farah Fawcett flicky do. I like the blue FC dress but was worried that it was a bit OTT with all the sequins ( and a bit short but I thought I could mitigate that with opaque tights and ginormous heels ).
Thanks for your help.

You can TOTALLY mitigate with opaques and heels it's going to look amazing

lou33 · 07/11/2010 21:22

you could go with either, they are both lovely, but the black one is more abigails party than disco diva iyswim

Msarsebiscuit · 08/11/2010 19:34

Thank you so much for your advice, I'm going to go French Connection sequin crazy. I don't suppose anyone has any shoe recommendations ...

How about these (or similar) from New Look? They have them in patent too I think (without the lacy pattern)
