GHD's or Cheaper alternative?

The time has come to purchase a pair of new straightners. I have been using my GHD's for four years now and it appears they have lost their 'wow' factor.

I have long, thick hair which is kind of straight, but if i don't straighten it, it looked like a bee gee hairstyle. I tend to go through phrases of straightening my hair after every wash which is every other day to just straightening it once a week. I have actually cut down on the frequency of straightening it a lot this year,

I see Boots have some Babyliss ones at £79 which have great reviews are also some at half price. I'm torn between trying a cheaper alternative or just going with GHD - but i have hear that the newer ones, made in the last couple of years have been prone to break easily? If not GHD's any recomendations?

tbh,if you are happy to spend £79 on babyliss ones i would put the extra to it and get ghd's.

i got a pair of babyliss pro radiance 230 (the red ones) for £24 down from £99 in bootsa the other week. they have a steam setting on them which is FAB,only thing is you need to filll the wee water tank before u use them, but it only takes a min.am very happy with mine!dont think i would have paid £99 for them though (but then am wuits stingy when it comes to things like this lol)
