brunette's with fair skin - what colours suit you?

I'm blonde at the moment but considering changing my hair to medium brown for the winter. I've done it before and found that I had to change the colour theme of my wardrobe to suit my new colouring.

At the moment my wardrobe is mostly made up of grey, navy blue, and neutral colours like beige, baby pink, browns etc. I'm just wondering if dying my hair will mean buying a whole new wardrobe too!

I have dark brown hair, grey blue eyes and fair skin with rosy chops. Colours that def. suit me are

mid and light grey
rose pink, mulberry pink
mossy/sage green
spring green
duck egg blue
soft coral
teal green/airforce blue
heather

don't suit black, red, emerald green, purple yellow, cream, navy, or bright jewel tones

I have this colouring, with hazel eyes. Navy is good on me, as are jewel colours. But as they aren't in this season, I'm not wearing them. I have a camel top that is fine and black is fine too!

All the summer nude colours made me look corpse-like, I tried lots.

However, I think finding colours that suit you are about skin tone as much as hair colour and you may find you continue to need the same colours as normal even if you change your hair colour.

I have pale skin, blue eyes, naturally mid-brown hair that is currently dark brown through the tender ministrations of Messrs. Garnier. Nothing too pale or muted deep colours like burgundy, forest green, deep purple, teal but then I have cool-toned skin so I can never wear beige or brown without looking like death warmed over anyway.

This is quite useful for working out which colours suit you.

I think it's your skin tone as well as your hair colour which influences the colours which suit you, in fact you probably need to take into account your skin tone in terms of what shade of brunette you want to go.

I had my colours done and discovered I'm a cool winter which means intense jewel colours suit me best.
I ditched half my wardrobe which was autumnal browns and khakis and look so much more alive now Smile

If its not already been said, you could get away with the hair colour change without & complete wardrobe over haul.......

use new complimentry coloured accessories, to lift your neutral clothes instead, mainly scarfs, but big chunky collar type necklaces will help lift your face, & then continue the theme with bangles, bags etc
