Any one experienced hair-thinning?

Has any one got suggestions that may help me, i.e. vitamin supplements or topical creams. I am thinking of buying a 3mth supply of a product containing 5% minoxidil as recommended by the 'Cosmetics Cop, Paula Begoun.

Have also seen that Imedeen have a new Hair & Nails supplement too.

My dad is bald on the crown of his head and it runs in his family, for sure if i was a boy i would be bald now too. My thinning is on the temples - not much and can be easily disguised. There is more thinning on one side than the other. Its not a big problem but would appreciate some advice.

vintage4 you are probably suffering from 'effluvian' hair loss - large quantities of hair shedding at once usually triggered by a lot of weightloss. It should return.

jbg minoxidil/regaine 5% treats hormonal hairloss usually slowing down the process, but it is an ongoing use medication. it can bring back fine baby hair and help maintain your hair - if you are thinning at temples/top ( in a similar way to mens hairloss ) this is normally hormone triggered. if your hair is also oily and thinning like this, do not be afraid to wash it often, the oil carries hormones that act on the folicles causing the hairloss. use the shampoo pregaine to go with the minoxidil.

Thanks for replies. I'm off to buy minoxidil and look for pregaine shampoo.
