Cowl neck and huge Norks?

I have seen a tunic I like the look of but I am cursed with huge nungas, would it be a disaster? :)

I stay away as they make me look sloppy - they sort of add volume to that area or something Smile

muddleduck · 02/11/2010 10:10

depends on the cut.
avoid if very high, but can work really well IMO.

link?

ghoulishglendawhingesagain · 02/11/2010 10:11

I used to find I had a shelf for a bosom. Not the look I was aiming for.

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 02/11/2010 10:31

Generally a disaster, yes.

Purplebuns · 02/11/2010 13:29

It was this one boring old next I have already ordered it as I was getting some other bits, I have never tried a cowl neck top before, so it will be a learning experience Wink and it can always go back :) Also I am early twenties, if that helps?

OP posts:
muddleduck · 03/11/2010 09:34

I suspect that one won't work.
On me the cowl bit would be draping down a few feet in front of my waist Grin

but I'm often wrong...

Purplebuns · 03/11/2010 09:56

I will let you all know as it should be delivered today. My idea is that it could nicely disguise the area or make me look very ahem matronly...

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 10:03

I find that smaller cowls like this work very well.

(this is very boring top that I don't actually own but it gives an idea)

JL

Purplebuns · 03/11/2010 10:08

That is quite nice actually! I must try out these things rather than sticking with good old low Vs and scoop necks!

Also DD isn't Bf as much so I can finally have more freedom in the clothes I choose! Bliss :)

Do you think the tunic itself I have ordered is nice or not? I am a bit unsure as it is very different from my usual style.

OP posts:
muddleduck · 03/11/2010 10:16

I like the tunic.
But it would look dreadful on me (34GG)

bananapeanutbutter · 03/11/2010 10:38

I like the style of the tunic purplebuns but I wouldn't be able to pull it off either (34E). I owned something like that once and then saw myself in a photo and promptly gave it to the charity store.

Purplebuns · 03/11/2010 10:39

Oh no it isn't looking good! I am 34 G :(

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 03/11/2010 14:46

I think it could work...it really does depend on cut...like you I have small back/big norks and I have a few cowl necks which (I think) look good.

marriednotdead · 03/11/2010 15:16

It could work.

You know you have to try it on and post a pic when it comes now, don't you Smile

And then we can be honest Grin

Silkstalkings · 03/11/2010 16:05

Tunic is lovely, get a second opinion from a stylish friend irl though. Then let us know the verdict please as I am 32F!

Purplebuns · 03/11/2010 17:52

Awful, sack of potatoes! :(

The sizing is coming up large as well!

Sad TBH I find chunky knitwear and big norks don't go well together. Fine, soft, drapey knits that hang are probably better and you can do interesting layers if you need to be warm. I have discovered the joys of a longsleeved black shrug (mine was New Look I think) - attracts the eye to the boobs but stops things looking too tarty perhaps. Plus you feel all Jane AustinGrin.

On the subject of big norks, has everyone had theirs satusfactorily measured lately? John Lewis way way better at it than M&S IME. The right bra should give you a 'ping' feeling of 'where have you been all my life?' If you don't hear that magical silent ping, just say noGrin.

Quick post;
Are skinny jeans that are a bit wrinkly around the knees ok or not? I have orderd a pair and they are really comfy and fit nice on my bum. etc except wrinkly knees? :)

OP posts:
dexter73 · 03/11/2010 19:04

I get wrinkly knees with mine too!

EdgarAirbombPoe · 03/11/2010 19:05

surely neck length is more important?

short neck = no to any form of roll neck

long neck = roll/cowl neck ok.

Silkstalkings · 03/11/2010 19:37

Nobody looks at your knees. Specially if you have a fab pair of boots, strappy heels or fabulous cleavage to divert the eyeGrin.

Purplebuns · 03/11/2010 20:25

I have ordered the same skinny jeans in a petite leg length as they are a bit long and then hopefully, my knee will be in the right place and hopefully, less baggyness :)

IRT cleavage, did I mention I am 34G? Wink

Silkstalkings · 04/11/2010 09:12

Grin Tis a gift not a curse (if you have the pinging bra, natch.)

Purplebuns · 04/11/2010 09:16

I get horrible shoulder/backache with my boobs, no matter what bra, so tis a curse :(

Bunbaker · 04/11/2010 09:30

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have the opposite problem and need a little extra help in that area. The style looks ideal for me.
