Aging lip line

That's it really. What sort of lipstick - matt? Gloss? Lip pencil?

With minimal makeup, mouth looks a bit shapeless catsbum all the time. Strong colours look too drag queen.

Any tips?

Try a lip pencil same colour as lips but only JUST go beyond lipeline. avoid the brown lip liner and pale lippie infill at all costs.

I find a super glossy lippie such as Dio addict shine or clinqiue butter surge works well, though sometimes I'll just use lip gloss.

Or a matte lippie to get a bit of colour then gloss over the top.

ps you can get temporary lip enhancement now which avoids the trout pout- I am thinking about it. lasts 6-9 months and is very subtle.

I don't smoke, and the skin around the lips is not too wrinkly. I love glossy lipstick, so will try and find a lip pencil colour to match my lips.

Tell me more about the temporary lip enhancement, PurplePeony. I think I'm a similar age to you (53).

A lipstick similar or slightly deeper/brighter than natural lip colour is most flattering.

If you suffer from bleeding lipstick then avoid anything too glossy and use a wax based primer like MAC's Prep & Prime lips. I have this problem and it's a lifesaver, otherwise I look like a cross between Ronald MacDonald and one of those mad old ladies with lots of red lines radiating out of my top lip.

OP- have a look at Dr Tracy Mountford's website. I have had a chat with them and they told me that they start with something like 0.5mls of filler- which must be one drop! They use it in the lips not around the lipline.

You could also try a lipgloss that makes your lips swell a bit- like the ones from Soap and Glory and Clinique- they contain something that gives a slight tingle/swelling.

I think I'd rather try a good snog Grin

I use benefit lip pump, followed by lip pencil then gloss.

Une do fab natural colours, I have their sheer lips balm, I found a colour which was like my natural lip colour, but more IYSWIM! Stocked in Boots and Superdrug.
