what to wear with ankle boots?

I bought grey lace up flat ankle boots on impulse. They're grand under jeans, but what else can I wear them with? I'm 5' 2", 40 and a size 10, so trying to find something to funk up my look. All suggestions gratefully recieved, as after having my one and only DD 6 months ago, I'm trying to leave my housebound dribble stained clothes behind!! Thanks.

No,not that technologically minded!Are short people supposed to wear peg leg trousers?Always avoided in case they made me stumpy looking.

As long as they are ankle length, should be ok. Mid calf length looks awful on anyone IMO.
