Just right

(but I'm quite generously proportioned myself!)

Meggles76 · 30/10/2010 18:22

The more casual stuff is big.
I would say the formal wear is more standard

perfectmummy · 30/10/2010 18:56

shit! Its a 10 and I'm always a 10 appart from M&S which I'm an 8.
The dress is about 12 pounds second hand. Should I risk it??!!
Bugger .

Hmm, I find them not that big but I think they are definitely cut for curves more than a lot of high street shops IYKWIM.

I would go for it though, you can always resell if it doesn't fit!

Panzee · 30/10/2010 19:13

Very different, because they're made in lots of different factories.

NannyPatsSausagePlait · 30/10/2010 22:21

bravo gg , I couldnt think of any more 'very big' words

VivaLeBeaver · 30/10/2010 22:26

Don't say big! I just tried on some jeans in a 16 today and they were too tight. My Gap jeans are a 14! So I would say =Monsson come up really tiny!

Panzee · 31/10/2010 09:02

Viva, I was told about the sizing by a staff member.

mippy · 31/10/2010 11:53

They come up big for me - I am a very curvy 16 and find (depending on the cut) that I can be a 14, or a 16 where I'd be an 18 in other shops if that makes sense. If you're curvy you might not find them so big, but if you aren't they will be big on you.

lucyspangle · 31/10/2010 16:28

Depends on the cut of the dress- I am a 10 but their more fitted dresses I can be a 12-I have 34D boobs but very small waist- skirts from Monsoon I fit a size 8- dresses 10-12-sorry not really much help.

I'd go for it can always sell on

Heartsease · 31/10/2010 16:32

You sound a bit like me sizewise nearly all my clothes are a 10 except the ones from M&S which are all 8s. I have three Monsoon dresses of which two are an 8 and one is a 10 the size 10 is a bit big up top.

What's your shape and the style of the dress?

exexpat · 31/10/2010 16:34

I'm a 14-ish in most things (16 in some, 12 at the more expensive places) but in my wardrobe I have a Monsoon size 8 skirt I fit into, and a Monsoon size 14 dress that fits perfectly, and a size 16 jumper that is too tight across the bust. I'm a bit Confused about their sizing, so would try on two or three different sizes just in case....
