I decided my other alternative to Ugg boots were just too £££. They were Merrell, but silly money!

I like the idea of Ugg's and how they are nice and casual, but just not totally for me.

My other boot contender is this one

Please rate - which do you prefer?

Neither to my taste, to be honest, but the second ones are at least am attempt to be stylish. The first ones look like slippers. Sorry!

HowToShoutSoHusbandsWillListen · 29/10/2010 14:22

I'm sorry but IMO they are both minging

winnybella · 29/10/2010 14:23

Neither, sorry.

Butterbur · 29/10/2010 14:24

Hideous old lady here - and I think the first ones look like carpet slippers.

Second ones are slightly better if you like that sort of thing (am a heels sort of person really).

DinahRod · 29/10/2010 14:25

Neither

Have you looked a rocket dog, emus or even M&S?

Pinkflipflop · 29/10/2010 14:25

Appreciate your honesty!!

Any suggestions for casual tan boots?

really don't like the first pair, the second are too slouchy for my taste but better than the granny footmuffs that are the first ones.

Have you checked out the rest of the Schuh site? They have 24 brown ankle boots of widely differing styles - can't believe that none of them appealed more than the footmuffs.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/10/2010 14:37

The first pair are an abomination!

Second pair not quite so bad but not great.

Sorry

Not keen on either pair I'm afraid.

Wallis might be worth a shot or Barratts.

theagedparent · 29/10/2010 14:46

I quite liked the first pair!

Chatelaine · 29/10/2010 15:45

They are slippers, not boots, Hushpuppies often have lovely stuff, so do Clarks. But if you want boots (for walking)? these aint it. They don't have enough support for your arches. If you feel they will do the job than all the above is irrelevant.

pickledbabe · 29/10/2010 15:46

yep, both are old-lady ugly boots.

sorry.

bigTillyMint · 29/10/2010 15:47

Both are hideous!

TracyK · 29/10/2010 15:48

I'd quite like the 1st pair - if they weren't so flat.

Marlinspike · 29/10/2010 15:49

The first ones look a bit pixie-ish? Not really to my taste, and IMHO uggs should not be worn outside the house! Second pair are OK, but I have seen much nicer on the high street (River island / dorothy perkins)

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 29/10/2010 15:52

The first pair are incredibly hip and stylish - you did say you were 75+ didnt' you?
