I just bought this dress, but not convinced yet. Is it nice and what shoes should I wear with it?

this one

It's for black tie dos and Christmas parties.

Have no idea what shoes to team it with, or whether I can wear tights or not with it?

Thanks notyummy, love the first two, perfect for the dress!

The Ted Baker ones would never fit on my plate-like feet.

Anthracite shoes could look really good.

And one shade lighter 60 denier tights.

MarshaBrady · 28/10/2010 15:49

I just googled that type of shoe and got loads of glittery ones.

I mean dark, dark grey Smile

I'm having second thoughts about the dress.

What about thid one?

That website has a few nice ones.

The first one is much nicer. That one's more of a day dress.

My sis wore a similar dress to a wedding with black tights & black patent platform shoes, looked v nice, she is thirties but looks twenties & looked young, funky & pretty. Black tights & shoes combo made her legs look v long (she's only 5ft4)

Ok I have got my confidence back for the first dress.

I tried it on in front of DS and DP and got the thumbs up from them.

Thanks for all your help.

It's a lovely dress, a perfect colour for a dark blonde. I'm with Bunny and her silver peep toes, you could then through a silver/grey pashmina or cropped bolero around you from car to do. And a silver/pewter clutch.

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/10/2010 20:35

throw obviously, blame it on the wine...

AngryPixie · 28/10/2010 20:42

Looks nice in the second and third pics I think it looks horrible and cheap and shiny on the model. Sad

PastaDiva · 28/10/2010 21:06

If it's formal black tie, you might want a shoe with a closed toe, so something like this might go (as long as it's fairly subdued in RL)? There are also several similar ones on the same website in plain black, and a peep toe glittery version

I am hopelessly old-fashioned about open-toed shoes at smart events, but I am fairly sure that's just me Grin

PastaDiva · 28/10/2010 21:13

And if I could wear these I would happily ditch my silly reservations!

overmydeadbody · 29/10/2010 08:03

PastaDiva I love those glittery court shoes! Never gonna afford them though
