Can't seem to find anything that is
flattering to my post-baby shape and fashionable.

Can't do empire lines as I look pregnant
can't do long straight tunics as they don't have enough shape and I look as though I am wearing a sack
Don't really do Tshirts anymore either as I they tend to be too short in the body and I don't like the "muffin top" effect i get.

So stuck in long shirts - which end up pulling across the boobs with jeans/leggins Or a couple of semi-fitted peasant style tops left over from the summer that I have been layering with a thin long sleeve tee!

I have skinny legs so also need to avoid looking like a lolly-pop.

What are you wearing this Autumn/Winter???

Boots, shortish denim skirt or mid-length well-cut skirts, long shirts/cardigans (v-neck shape). And good bras.

I dont' think I've ever posted on S&B before (hopes no S&B sins have been committed)

sleepysox · 28/10/2010 19:37

I'm watching this post with interest as I'm a size 16 and am having the same sort of problems, except I'm a short ass at only 5'6.

So shall we just sit and eat crisps in the corner like Norma No Mates?

I wear bubble hem type tops. Not the huge ones that are very trendy, but those with a fair bit of material that gathers at the bottom. Works wonders at hiding my tum.

I'm exactly the same shape and struggling to find nice things at the moment. I keep being told to show off my legs which are slim, but like you say gives a top heavy lollipop effect!!

I'm wearing skinny ish jeans, tunic type things or long tops and cardigans.

I'm struggling wirh jeans to fit both my slim legs and fat stomach in. My legs are a 12 my stomach a 14+. wearing 14's but they fall down constantly.!!

mnistooaddictive · 28/10/2010 19:41

Clothes from bravissimo made for the bigger chest! Would wear them everyday of I could afford it.

OmicronPersei8 · 28/10/2010 19:45

I'd recommend I nice longish cashmere in a dark colour - clings to the right bits, skims the rest. Soft enough to wear with whatever underneath.

I am wearing these treggings but they are not skin tight on my legs
they are a newish find for me and better than jeans as the elastic waist is more forgiving
I am wearing with body skimming tunics and long cardis , ankle boots .
Just bought [[http://www.east.co.uk/p/KnittedDresses/aw101121037AUBERGINE.htm this tunic which goes well with the treggings and looks good with long sleeved top under.
Good place for long fitting long sleeved t-shirt is isabella oliver here
Shirts look shit on my big boobs so I stick to strecthy material only.

i am your shape ( lollipop) but not your size. I have given up trying to look fashionable and settled for trying to look stylish. my body shape is not made for fashion

i NEVER wear skinnies or leggings or empires lines as they make me look more top heavy. I wear

skinny flare jeans with wedge heel boots to give me height ( I'm only 5'5'')

wide leg dark wool trousers for work

jersey tops and drapey knitwear. never tight or clingy t shirts

always scoop neck or v neck tops. never polo or crew neck

find it hard to get blouses to fit boobs without pulling at buttons

lots of cardis of different styles and shapes, rarely jumpers

jersey drapey dresses

skirts or dresses with a line or slight flare skirt, worn above the knee

knee length boots in small calf sizes

never flats with skirts due to large skinny feet and long skinny legs. only exception is flip flops on beach Grin

long jersey or lightweight wool scarves

I always belt long straight dresses or tunics, with wide belt worn low on hips

sleepysox · 29/10/2010 09:03

I'm jeans shopping today, so I'll look out for some skinny flared jeans. I have some tighish straight legged ones, but they don't do anything for me.

sleepysox · 29/10/2010 09:04

ggirl- I bought that IO top the other day! I'm so glad, it appears that by accident I bought the right thing for once!!!

soccerwidow · 29/10/2010 14:26

Thanks everyone...
I don't venture in here very much either. I always feel like I have gotten a little lost and entered the Upper Sixth common Room by mistake - all those glamourous girls touching up their lippie & talking about what they are wearing at the weekend.

The IO top would be too clingly on my jelly belly.

I like the shape of that jumper dress, but the cowl neck would annoy me!

Being tall those bubble hem tops always sit in the wrong place for me & the bubble bit sits where a baby bump would be.

I also find that the stores/ranges for plus sizes are no good either, very unflattering. I am stuck in a high st no-mans land!

I have skirts but dont often wear them as I am a bit "top less" at the moment. The longish, loose tops that I usually wear with my trousers just dont go with skirts. I have got a couple of nice T's from wallis that I bought a couple of summers ago that I wear to work with a cardi but that is it!

I love my new look, super skinny jeans and M&S for work stuff

but I basically need tops that are long in the body, that skim rather than stick to the lumps & bumps, have a v neck or scoop neck!

grrr

but glad that I am not the only one suffering this pain Grin
