Can anyone tell me the best type of Spanx to get?

I always seems to have the awful muffin top with the control knickers. Would this be any good?

I can't remember what they're called, but I have some fab spanks knickers that go right up to the bra line and they're g-string so you don't get the horrible hip-line either. THink I got them on figleaves. Gstring not terribly comfortable but I wear them over other knickers (TMI??!) and they have revolutionised the wearing of tight-ish dresses etc.

Depends what you want to slim though - my area is just tummy...

I've got a slip, which is good as doesn't have tight waistband to spill over and looks bit better than wearing the knickers.

childrenofthecornsilk · 27/10/2010 12:47

are the slips really tight and restrictive? I want something to wear under a jersey dress.

JustDoMyLippyThenWeWillGo · 27/10/2010 13:56

Mine is a waist slip, and pretty comfy, I think.

I have got the Spanx brand ones. They go right up to your bra (you can even tuck them under your bra strap so they don't slip down!) and have legs like cycling shorts.

V unattractive, but brilliant all the same and you have no lumps or bumps at all when wearing.

I got cycling-short style ones from M&S and they are up to about tummy-button level so no muffin top - think they work great.

If you have issues with the unattractiveness of Spanks, shapewear like
this is also available, and very effective!

I keep saying it but Spanx up to your bra tights are the way to go in winter.

they smooth out all under bra lumps, or over tights or knickers bumps, so you have a nice smooth line under dresses. Oh and they hold our tummy and arse in.

I bought one pair last year and washed and wore them all winter as I wear lots of dresses in the winter. I've bought two piars for this winter. they're expensive £30 but I certainly git my moneys worth out of them.

childrenofthecornsilk · 27/10/2010 21:58

BridesheadRegardless · 27/10/2010 22:01
