Terrible dark circles under eyes - drastic action needed!

Okay, no concealer can even come close to helping me, and I have tried them all.

I really want to sort out the dark circles around my eyes, they make me look exhausted. I am starting to think about theatrical makeup, in desperation, or some of that special makeup that covers birthmarks etc. Are there even any surgery options? I would be willing to at least think about paying a decent sum of money towards sorting them out.

In the meantime, I barely touch alcohol and caffeine, but am considering cutting both out altogether. I am also considering a multivitamin, and trying to drink more water.

Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks Smile

Right. I've been taking the spatone and I also read somewhere that gentle massage around the eyes helps circulation. So I've tried that and it definitely feels different and looks differend but not sure it's better tbh Hmm

I always recommend Benefit erase paste - very thick but completely covers the evil bruises without caking.

I agree it's mainly down to the shape of your face - I have deep-set eyes and a high nose bridge (gorgeous, me), so I don't stand a chance. Had them since I was 13.

I also spent several years on a detox diet - no alcohol, coffee, sugar, white carbs, red meat, dairy, plus drinking nothing but copious amounts of water (stuff that for a lark) - made no difference. Neither did it make any dents in my cellulite.

One weird thing I once came across: make a paste with ground fenugreek and milk, leave it on for at least 10 mins then rinse off. The bruising did seem to fade a bit when I did this, but I only lasted a couple of weeks as DH couldn't stand the pong!

Tear trough filler!

Same here OP. I've been considering a private skin camouflage appointment but haven't convinced myself to spend the £££ & it does seem very self-indulgent/vain. Look up skin camouflage consultants - they cover scars, deformities etc

This one is always worth a go. Cheap but is always recommended.

I like the Jane Iredale Enlighten corrector, Wayne Goss did a good demo of it on You Tube. You can buy it individually on Amazon or as part of the Jane Iredale Corrective Colours kit.

I have the same problem - I’m looking into tear trough fillers at the moment. They are expensive but that’s how depressed I feel about mine, I look constantly tired.

I’ve tried all sorts and worked out it’s the way the socket is set it’s not thin skin just a defined gap between my eye and cheek bone - so think filler is my only option.

Am interested to read about iron deficiency though but think I’m being over hopeful. Following with interest

clickyourthumbs · 22/10/2017 17:31

Watching with interest. I use BB peach corrector with skin brightener over the top but I find it cakes in the creases.
Touche Eclat seems to highlight the bruised effect on me.
I'm very tempted by tear trough fillers but worried about awful bruising since my blood vessels must be very close to the surface.

Fosterdog123 · 22/10/2017 17:52

Tear trough fillers. Nothing you put on superficially will work. Save your money and just get them filled.

Fosterdog123 · 22/10/2017 17:56

Use dr raph at the consultant clinic. He's the best out there.

Have you had it done Foster and would you be happy to share your experience?

Fosterdog123 · 22/10/2017 19:30

No but I'm about to. I use Dr Raph for botox and he's the best I've had and I've had a lot Check them out on Instagram. Their work is first rate.

clickyourthumbs · 22/10/2017 21:26

Will you report back? I'm very tempted.

dublinia · 22/10/2017 21:27

Apparently The Ordinary's caffeine roll on is meant to be great for the eye area.
It's my next beauty buy.

Fosterdog123 · 22/10/2017 21:31

Yep, I'll report back 👀

shopafrolic · 22/10/2017 21:38

I suffer with awful dark shadows under my eyes. LM concealer is the best I have found so far. I'm starting to think that sleeping on my tummy isn't helping as I've read that the blood pools under your eyes when you're face down. Not sure I can train myself to sleep on my back after 45 years no matter how bad they are Hmm

oldlaundbooth · 23/10/2017 02:26

Just to say OP that I have dark circles (not bags) and they are a lot better when I drink MORE coffee.
