I currently have some Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy but its fast running out and I am keen to get an alternative thats not so pricey if possible.

What do you find works ?

I would get yourself an Instyle magazine quick (last months I think) and try the freebie L'occitane hand cream - cherry blossom the best. It's one of my faves.

Apart from that Kiehl's ultimate hand salve is truly amazing but about £13.50 or £18.50 depending on size.

I love those Instyle gifts - they are bargainous. Aveeno is on offer at Waitrose at the moment. I have stocked up!

purplepeony · 25/10/2010 18:59

I have used all sorts from Clarins to cheapest and find that Atrixo is good and also Vaseline intensive care- blue tube.

4andnotout · 25/10/2010 19:04

I use soap and glory handfood and slather it on before bed and then put their cotton gloves on over the top. I've been doing my hands and feet and noticed a drastic improvement.

Ok - i have this one, i am totally in love with: vault2.secured-url.com/verdeshop/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=47

it smells like lemon sherbet a bit, i just love it!! and it does the job rather well too.

childrenofthecornsilk · 25/10/2010 20:19

yes atrixo is good - the stuff in the tub though - not the tube. It's not the same.

sparkle1977 · 25/10/2010 21:39

Cheers, loads of good suggestions there to look into. The Body Shop Hemp stuff, does that have a smell to it ?? I get easily put off creams with an unpleasant/overpowering smell ?

yes it does smell a bit weird

NinjaChipmunk · 25/10/2010 21:50

although its not cheap i love caudalie and it lasts for ages as you only need a little bit. when i had bad excema on my hands this was the only one that really helped.

vintage4 · 25/10/2010 21:53

the best handcream i have ever used is Ikeas own brand..brilliant

SpookilyDoodleydoohoohoooooo · 25/10/2010 21:55

If you have sweatie hands (sorry!) clarin's is the best (also works on feet!)

vintage4 · 25/10/2010 22:00

the best smelling and prettiest tubes are Tokyo Milk IMO

vintage4 · 25/10/2010 22:07

no sorry talking rubbish .I meant Love + Toast

ruthie76 · 26/10/2010 13:49

Liz Earle is v good or Eucerin hand cream if v bad.

as a wee treat, decleor hand cream smells lush

BridesheadRegardless · 26/10/2010 14:10

I have loads as I'm a hand cream addict.

The best for actaully moisturising is the body shop hemp it really is, but it does small a bit weird a bit 'earthy' but it's not a strong smell.

If you want nice smell I love the soap and glory handfood smell and I also have one from Lvetheplanet (online organic cosmetics) lemon cocoa balm, it's very oily so good at night and smells luscious. Pretty cheap too.

josefa · 26/10/2010 14:26

I second the Caudalie - sinks in really fast, isn't greasy, and has no nasty parabens etc, so it's great if you have allergies or sensitive skin. (Is much cheaper in France so if you go on hols you can stock up!)

mousymouse · 26/10/2010 14:28

weleda skin food if you have really dry skin on the hands.

polyhymnia · 26/10/2010 15:35

Another vote for Clarins.

Deux · 26/10/2010 15:39

I've been using an old tube of lansinoh overnight - fab!

Normally use Neutrogena but recently saw some Cuticura intensive hand cream in the 99p shop - good and cheap and wish I'd bought more.

vastingavay · 26/10/2010 15:42

Aveeno cream. I currently use it for my face as well. I go through tubes of the stuff because it works.
3 for 2 in Boots atm too.
