Bleach is good.

Waxing works but leaves redness for a few hours and hair seems to grow more afterwards.

My friend has a 'tache. Not quite close enough a friend for me to tell her but it is quite noticable. She spends £££s on hair/nails/treatments, have been hoping salon would recommend something in a kind way. Maybe they have and she prefers the lip ornament, who knows.

I use hair removing cream on my mine, have done for a few years. It works quite well and you don't have that obvious red look that you get after waxing

Eglu · 22/10/2010 16:36

Sorry meant to say it is specifically for faces so gentle.

I think electrolysis or laser is the preferable long term solution. Lots of people I work with wax and have no problems with it but there are no guarantees.

YunoWhatYouDidLastSummer · 22/10/2010 16:40

Threading?

I get my eyebrows threaded and they always offer to do my tache too.

SeveredArmbow · 22/10/2010 16:55

oooooooooooooo threading never thought or that

I wax my own with wax strips. I'm only red for about 10 minutes now and I have very sensitive skin.

thisisyesterday · 22/10/2010 17:00

um, i'll pass all this info onto my friend

SeveredArmbow · 22/10/2010 17:03

are the wax strips for faces??? or are they regular strips that you can use anywhere???

which cream do you use eglu?

Jeepers, I wouldn't get it threaded! Ouchy! Veet is brilliant though, five mins once a fortnight, smooth as Paul Daniels forehead.

LadyLatherOfIndecision · 22/10/2010 17:07

use veet for face, not normal veet

BalloonSlayer · 22/10/2010 17:08

It's normal to have fine hairs on your top lip like you do anywhere else on your body. A completely bald top lip with no down on it can look odd.

It tends only to be a problem if the tache looks very dark.

I find that the darkness (Ohhh the DARKNESSSSSS!!) is often caused by a few thick hairs at the corner of the mouth and if you pluck these (and yes they come out with a noise like something off Tom and Jerry) the overall effect is reduced.

dexter73 · 22/10/2010 17:23

I get mine waxed. Never have any redness or spots. You can't tell I have had it done even straight afterwards.
The trouble with bleaching is that all the hairs are still there so it certain lights they are still very noticeable.

I asked 2 beauticians.

The first does IPL but said the hair was too fine and blond.

The second said not to wax it because it would become more noticeable. She said to leave it.

But I can see it (and so can DS1 and I suspect DH can too because when I asked him, he said "ask the beautician...")

LadyLatherOfIndecision · 22/10/2010 17:36

I get mine in Boots, Riven

Eglu · 22/10/2010 17:42

Apologies for not replying sooner, I use a cream from boots although can't find it on their website.

SeveredArmbow · 22/10/2010 17:52

thank you Smile

For many years I would not touch my moustache and the hairs are black and quite thick too.

I have discovered Epicare. Its all sorted in 25 seconds. No chemicals, no batteries, no blades. Wish I'd found it years ago. Also it was via a posting on this site. Sorry cant do links but its www dot epicarehome dot com. They have a video demonstrating it.

4andnotout · 23/10/2010 08:14

Don't bleach!! My friend bleaches hers and it's far more visible now than it ever was! I veet mine, I'm too wimpy to wax.

size6feet · 23/10/2010 10:48
