wool socks (not ski/welly socks) for children

Online?

I have googled but keep finding huge welly socks or ski socks which won't fit in their school shoes.

For 2 DS aged 3.5 & 6.

Thanks

This isn't going to be the easiest thing to find, but do you have a local knitting shop ...? Ours knit socks for children (some of the money goes to charity). Still on the chunky side mind you.

Do they have to be wool, or just thickish socks? Pure wool doesn't wear all that well and I wouldn't make it into socks for wee folk. A wool/ nylon mix is harder-wearing.

Yes childrens socks are quick and easy to knit, need not be that thick.

To buy wool socks (try googling for mohair/alpaca/merino) you are going to be looking at quite an outlay though

here?

Thanks.

Doesn't have to be pure wool, it's just I got myself some falke socks (ONE pair!) which are such a change from my normal cotton socks that I thought that the DS who are outside a lot should also have some.

I actually just ordered some vests from Cambridgebaby greenlotus, I didn't notice the socks there, thanks, there is a bit of a wait for the sizes I need.
