Looking at the baby girl swim bubbles in JoJo catalogue - are these worth buying or should I stick to normal swimsuit with swim nappy underneath? I can't see how they would keep 'stuff' in, and what do you do if you're at beach/pool for a while and they poo in it? I know the idea is that it doesn't escape into pool/water, but can't see how practical it is.

Not used these particular ones but when I took DD swimming in early months I bought similar item from mothercare, just a swimsuit with a padded 'nappy' lining. One time DD did poo while we were in pool and it did keep it in place while i made mad dash to changing rooms, but a swim nappy would do the same job, and to be honest a normal swimsuit would also probably be fine. I think most baby swimsuits do come with some sort of lining anyway. I bought it as I didnt want to fork out for disposable swim nappies, but at the end of the day I dont think it will make a lot of difference. If they are gonna poop they are gonna poop and you wont get a lot of say in the matter. I can see disposable swim nappies would probably be more practical but its damned hard to find them in teeny sizes!!

Thanks! Think I might stick with swim nappies. At least then she can be changed and another swim nappy put on. It's more for a holiday than for swimming in a pool, so I don't want to be stuck at the beach with DD in a poo-stained costume.
