I need an alternative to Uggs for keeping my permanently-like-blocks-of-ice feet warm.

I've never been a huge fan of Uggs but have been thinking about getting a pair recently just because my feet get SO cold in the winter no matter how many pairs of thermal socks I pile on.

DP hates Uggs with a passion and since they're expensive and I'm not crazy about them either, I'm looking for something that's just as warm but not an Ugg IYSWIM.

I saw some nice Emu boots in non-Ugg styles but in the small print it said the sheepskin lining was just on the leg, not the foot area Hmm.

Any ideas?

second (or third) the Bearpaw ones from TKMaxx. got the 'dreamer' style black ones, £40, and the label says real suede and sheepskin fleece lining, v toasty! I got these to replace those rocket dog ones as their lining is synthetic wool so didn't actually keep my feet warm!

I also have constantly cold feet and an acupuncturist told me to drink lots of fresh ginger tea!

god you do
uggs are GOPPING

I lived in sheepskin boots while preggers and they are fugly but so comfy and toasty. I am fearing i need to reinvest and have been thinking about Celtic sheepskn ones as they do some that are outdoor-proof. Have tried faux sheepskin and they stink and don't work as well. Will never fall for that again. Just need to unearth a code for Celtic though as DH tgrew out the catalogue with mine on it.

I've got Raynaud's and wear merino/cashmere mix tights (from marks and spencer I think) with knee length merino wool socks on top if it's freezing. I've also got some Ugg's to wear after winter surfing/ outdoors and couldn't give a toss if no one likes them. Saves my toes feeling like they are going to drop off!

I also wear thermal liner gloves underneath huge wool mittens (which importantly cover your wrists) in the winter, in case you get chilly hands!

Was going to say Bearpaws but you beat me to it. You need real sheepskin for warmth. Synthetics don't get the job done.

"Bear paw" from TK Maxx, I think they are still retailing for £40 to £45.
Real sheepskin inside and out, very warm, again Australian company, and they know how to make them.
They come in range of styles and natural colour, check it out at:

I've got the merrells recommended by verytellytubby , I bought them last year and they are FAB.

Warm, comfortable, practical, waterproof, essentially walking boots but can get away with them anywhere you'd wear uggs. Love them. Have worn them everywhere from town to the mountains.

I need something a bit smarter though as my other boots have given up this year - that's the bit I'm struggling with!

these are beautiful. I want them. Cannot afford.
