My mum asked my opinion on a handbag she saw online - its an oversized thing but looked a bit plain for my personal taste - in my opinion it would suit older ladies. So i told my mum it was nice and said which colour i thought was best (thinking she was buying it for herself). Now i've found out that she's "put my bag away for christmas" Shock oops! Serves me right really doesnt it!

Can you tell her that you thought it was for her, and it would suit her, not you?

If you tell her now, she could return it. Otherwise it's a bit of a waste.

Nice that you don't want to hurt her feelings, though.
