If you have neither straight or curly hair ?

Thinking in particular if you have long hair - how do you make your hair look decent without spending ages either blowdrying or using GHD's?

I really admire the tousled look and the prospect of not using so much heat on my hair, but still want to look ok (ish) IYKWIM?

So any tips for those of us with wavy, in-between hair?
Thanks

Hmm. I'd like to know too. I've shoulder length slightly wavy hair and I freqently make it look worse when I try to blow dry it.

wash it, squeeze the water out, comb with a wide toothed comb, rough it up, then don't touch it again.

Are you sure your hair is not curly? Maybe you just haven't given it free reign to curl yet.

As colditz said but I would add in some product in between the 'comb it out' and 'rough it up' stage. Boots pink curl creme is actually very good - just use a tiny bit.

Watching also. My hair would look like James May's is left to dry naturally.

There is no way I can get away without styling my hair - it goes between frizzbomb or rats tails if left to its own devices.

Grin at James May - I feel your pain

What works for me is to tie it into a sort of bun when it's wet and let it dry like that - then it goes straight around the roots and curls from where it was tied.

If I do as Colditz said I look like the cross between a lion and a sheep.

I've got wavy hair. It was past my shoulders and I was getting fed up with it for the reasons you say - left to its own devices it was limp, and rats taily - better if I blowdried it but then it lost the natural wave and looked as if someone had blowdried it not very well and run out of time half way through. Grin

I've now had it cut above my shoulders, and layered. I have also started using Liz Earle's new haircare range. I am not sure whether that had made the difference but I can now wash & towel dry it, leave it to dry naturally and I have tousled, wavy hair & shiny too - with no other products. I've found that using anything to encourage the wave/curl just made my hair look greasy, no matter how little I used.

Mine is just past shoulder length and natural can't decide whether it's straight or wavy, so left alone looks awful.

If I'm having a can't be arsed day, I wash it, rub with towel to get worst of moisture out, comb with wide comb then scrunch with Tigi Curls Rock. If I can get away with not drying it, I leave it to dry naturally, just scrunching the ends again as it dries to make sure the weight doesn't pull the bounce out. If I need it dry, I do as above, but then scrunch it and use a diffuser - literally scrunch with my hand, then replace my hand with the diffuser.
