So, am starting a brand new job next week- and I HAVE to dress the part- i.e. suits etc.

Found some nice stuff on M&S (am still looking for more nice "clean-cut" things- crispy tops, pencil skirts, etc- if anyone has any thoughts on the matter, don't be shy, do share!).

HOWEVER- what am I going to do about shoes? Lord help me, can't seem to find proper pairs anywhere! anything is either studded to death, pink and fluffy, lacquered, or supporting heels that will make my back look like a question mark after two hours of prancing around in them.

So-
Where does one go to buy nice, cute, mid-heel shoes that won't cost me a fortune and will be comfy and cute too?

What sort of idiot thinks that 'Balti Dish' is a good name for a pair of shoes? They do look quite nice and work-appropriate though.

M&S do some OK work shoes, towards the comfy end of the spectrum, at least (but be careful not to go TOO comfy iyswim....).

Am trying to think of the thought process that might lead somebody to name them so:

'Okay, people...I'm thinking hot, I'm thinking spicy, I'm thinking centre of fashion..that's Birmingham right? Okay, I'm thinking flock wallpaper and glass topped tables....'

..I'm thinking pink elephants riding bicycles... and pavements made of Angel Delight... and golden trees bearing clockwork fruit... and... Oooh, is anyone else hungry? Shit we've got shoes to name... Aha! Balti dish
