tunic for girls night out and then Christmas parties

I'm thinking leggings or slim/tight/maybe shiny trousers with high heeled shoe boots.

The sleeves are more sheer/see through than it looks in the picture and it's slightly longer on me than it is on her

I'm 40, size 10 and 5'5" ish. Mid length blone textured bob.

What do you think?

I think the style is nice. Not very exciting but easy to dress up. The velvet may look very cheap though. If it were me I would order it, have a good look and send it back if it wasnt just right.

Cant see why it wouldnt suit you but it would deffo depend on the quality of the velvet Smile

If I was wearing it I would go for black full length leggings and high heeled ankle boots, arm full of big bangles and a necklace.

I think it looks a bit cheap in the photo and next photograph everything very well so will probably be very disappointing in the flesh.

Sorry - have you looked in warehouse?

dontstart · 13/10/2010 20:30

I bought it in store today (but can easily take it back)

It's lovely and soft actually, stretchy and figure hugging, but not clingy. I don't think it looks cheap, but £25 was part of it's appeal, as once Christmas is over I'm unlikely to wear it much.

Ooops - if it looks nice in the flesh then keep it Smile

You're slim and young so will look fab I'm sure.

thefirstmrsDeVeerie · 13/10/2010 20:36

If you have it and the fabric looks nice then I am sure it will be great.

That was my only worry. You never know with next. They get their stuff from all over the place so the quailty varies.

thelunar66 · 13/10/2010 20:48

I quite like it. But I fear it is for the flat chested. It would be better with a softer neckline... drapey or something.

Don't trail the sleeves in your gravy! Wink

dontstart · 13/10/2010 20:53

OOh good point lunar - I shall have to check that.

Flat chested is good - will suit me Smile

I like it and I'm same age - only wish I was as slim as you

MuGGGhoulWump · 13/10/2010 21:00

I really don't like tunics.
I hate my thighs, and I feel wearing a longer top makes it look like I have something to hide (which I do), and it draws attention to it.

If you're size 10 then don't go for a longer top, people will assume you're bigger.

Weird photo, looks like her shoulders are twice as wide as her hips, a little too much photoshop again next!

Tortington · 14/10/2010 09:06

hate it.
