What can I do to the baby's hair?

Please help me here. DD3 (13 months) has always had a lot of hair but it's getting more and more unruly (photo on my profile). Apart from the pronounced quiff at the back, the stuff at the front is getting longer but refuses to be parted- just flops resolutely forwards again and is now skimming her eyebrows. I want to trim her fringey thing but not into a severe line, just enough to get it out of her eyes. How and what can I do do it?

i use to snip off unruly bits while D1 was asleep. Just the bits hanging in her eyes to start wth.

My DD is the same....she has a very, very wispy fringe...I found some tiny hair slides in Wilkos that do the job but do not leave in her hair when she sleeps in case they end up in her mouth.....

She is GORGEOUS BTW

LoopyLoops · 12/10/2010 08:39

How about cutting the fringe then using thinning scissors?

I noticed on your profile that you're a freelance translator. What language and specialisms? I ask because my sister works for an agency and keeps asking me if I know anyone with xyz specialisms.

duchesse · 12/10/2010 08:42

Ooh, ooh, marketing opportunity! French and Spanish; legal and financial. I also do educational documents and a large amount of stuff that does not fit into any of those categories. I can PM you details of my page on TranslatorsCafe for her if you like. Thanks Loopy!

No probs. Fr/Sp to Eng?
What software do you use?

LoopyLoops · 12/10/2010 09:43

She's just asked me a second ago about a
job that needs doing ASAP, she says:
it's french into English UK technical, and they need SDLX (to deal with ITD files)

duchesse · 12/10/2010 09:55

Ah, I don't have any translation software, Loopy. I use find and replace on documents with many repetitions.

Ah, everything- so you just do that and then cut straight along your fingers? Thank you!

Another option for your adorable DD3 is to put hair wax in it to make it sit down. DH won't hear of DD's mop being cut, so I have to use his Fudge Hair Shaper (the tiniest smear on her wet hair brush) to give her a comb-over to keep it out of her eyes. Ridiculous, I know! But it does work. Am about to try and transition in hair clips, too.

duchesse · 13/10/2010 15:28

I just used your technique Everything to snip the very longest ends off- it looks a bit better and at least it's out of her eyes now. Thank you all for your suggestions!
