I have just seen something advertised to hide bags under your eyes - would it work?

I can't remember what it was but I have big bags & I think I need something

But I don't think I can be bothered with the whole foundation thingie - you can't use this sort of thing by itself can you?

I have no idea what it is you're referring to....

KatyMac · 11/10/2010 22:36

It was a roll-on (maybe) make-up thingie for hiding bags under your eyes

I wonder if it was this

It won't work will it?

I have this, it feels nice going on but it didnt really make much difference.

The rollerball on it stays quite cold so it is soothing but I think its the same as putting spoons on your eyes and having a good moisturiser tbh

lucykate · 11/10/2010 23:02

might be this. it's the tinted version of the roll on. i have it. it's ok, but only comes in 2 shades. i'm quite pale, and have the fair skin one and it's a bit too pink for me. it's a little patchy too, but is much less of a faff than full on foundation to apply.

Katisha · 11/10/2010 23:02

I have horrendous bags. Caffeine roll-on doesn't make any difference. I gather the only real answer is surgery, which I won't be doing.
I do have some stuff that sort of tightens up the area, dries as you put it on, but it sort of flakes round the edges and doesn't look great - shiny.

deathjeff · 11/10/2010 23:05

I agree, you can waste money on a bazillion products that don't work...or you can have surgery.

If it bothers you that much then I'd look into surgery but I don't believe in any of the quickfixes.

Do you mean bags or dark circles?

If you mean dark circles depending on your budget and the severity the one mentioned above is ok but YSL Touch eclat is a lot better, although it is a cover more than a remedy.

If you mean actual bags then products are unlikely to have the affect you want.

KatyMac · 12/10/2010 06:47

Dark smudges rather than bags (DD 12 has them too.....so I'm guessing we are stuck with them)

We don't have the same colour skin so we can't share, but I'll have a look at the more expensive one for her...I can't be bothered Confused

See this thread re cheap touche eclat.

miracled · 12/10/2010 08:25

I've got the caffiene one with the concealer added, its good for covering dark circles but gives me some irritation if I use it every day (red blotches at the outer corners of the eye).

Pootles2010 · 12/10/2010 08:27

Oh, and if you decide to go with real thing, i get mine here which incidentally wins the award for worst website name ever. They are reliable, although annoyingly if you order more than one thing they send them all separately and charge separate posting.
