I need to get out of jeans!!!!!!

Please help me, I need to stop wearing jeans all of the time. I even wear them to work...

I'm a size 16 and look awful in leggings, so they are ruled out. I own a couple of skirts but don't tend to find them practical for everyday wear.

I have bought a couple of pairs of black trousers which fit me really well and look very nice. But everything I put with them makes me look like I work in an admin office (no offence to anyone who works in admin!)

Can you please help?

I will be watching this thread, after disasterous attempt at buying new jeans at weekend... i hate them. I read Liz Hurley in an interview once saying you had to choose between biscuits and jeans, i think she's right, i look so awful in them. Combination of muffin top and builders bum if i bend down - not good.

Maxi skirt? Don't know how tall you are... Skirt over leggings?

Gap have a great range of trousers (now online) with all sorts of different cuts so perhaps you may be able have a look at them and see if there is anything you fancied.

what are you putting with your black trousers?

Maxi skirts aren't really practical for day to day life (I cycle a lot for a start!) and leggings look awful on me.

I have tried lots of different cardis and tops with my trousers but they all seem to be wrong. Maybe it is a colour problem, I probably bought them to go with jeans and so maybe the colour isn't quite right with black. I have just ordered a grey knitted tunic so am hoping that will co-ordinate better.

I can see why the skirt idea wouldn't work if you cycle!Would something like this be suitable (although not in your size on the site at the moment.)

The trousres that I have (from M&S) are actually quite similar to those Gap ones. They are really flattering. It is just a problem finding something to go with them (and very easy to run back to jeans)

I would have thought some of the grey tops and knits that are around at the moment would look nice. Also, perhaps a bright constrasting colour (whatever one suits you best) emerald green, deep purple, cobalt blue etc.

Perhaps a slightly more fitter blouse to add shape - quite easy for tunics to be too baggy sometimes. Layering is harder when you are not straight up and down!

What do you think of this?

Very nice!
