Fly boots - are they really good and where to get them?

I need to buy some brown ankle boots for wearing on weekends, but they must be warm and water proof. I'm considering these or identical model witout shoe laces. Good choice? Can I get them any cheaper than Amazon?
Thanks Smile

I've just bought some Fly boots. I thought I was going to get the ones you linked to, but they just didn't look right on me when I tried them on in Schuh. I ended up buying the 'Mes' ones - dark brown, mid-calf length. They are fab and just look and feel better quality than any other boots I've had. I bought mine on the Javari website - they seemed to have even more choice and were in some cases slightly cheaper than Amazon. HTH.

I have mes - bought them last year from Amazon. I love them.

You relly need to be buying boots from Amazon in Summer to get the bargains - sorry!

LaCerbiatta · 11/10/2010 15:05

I know, but I want them now! Smile
Will check the Javari website, thanks.

You know you have made me order a pair of cheap fly sandals from amazon now? Bad thread.

Fimbo · 11/10/2010 17:07

I have the Mes in green patent - got them for a bargainous £62.50 on Amazon in the summer .

If you use Sainsburys, I discovered that you can convert your points into Amazon credit. I have just bought Rocket Dogs for the winter for £23.50 thanks to Sainsbos!

childrenofthecornsilk · 11/10/2010 18:07

also got fly boots in summer from Amazon for bargainous price

My Fly Mols are not warm and they are absolutely not waterproof, they are not even any good if the ground is damp - fashion boots, not winter boots imho. I bought cheap boots from DP that have withstood all sorts of weather ( not leather though).

LaCerbiatta · 13/10/2010 21:13

Thanks for that - the Nctar points are a good idea!

Does anyone else think they're not good for severe winter conditions?? Having second thoughts now.... for £100 they better be bloody perfect!

i have 3 pairs of fly london's, 2 sandals which are lovely and really comfy and mols, which are also lovely and comfy. 2 things i would say about them are, first don't ever pay full price, they are good but not worth the £££, and second, fly london boots are not waterproof! they are fashion boots, not wellies.

Whoooooooseyfruit · 13/10/2010 22:21

fly boots are not waterproof. they are comfy and look good but no good for British winters.

purplepeony · 14/10/2010 08:08

No boots are waterproof unless stated as such and treated somehow.

leather is not waterproof.
