Purple, green or grey

AllBuggiedOut · 10/10/2010 18:12

Dunno, but just wanted to say 'gorgeous dress'! Grin

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 18:35

it is a lovely dress, very flattering.

also will dress down well i think.

would black tights be a no-no? because they are more slimming.

tethersend · 10/10/2010 18:56

Cream or white opaques.

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 18:59

oh now tethersend, i hold your opinion in very high regard (you have good form on S&B), but cream or white opaques??? won't i look like i am at risk of getting a DVT, wearing support stockings?

OP posts:

peacock crystal?

For what occasion? I'd be tempted by grey or navy, possibly something textured or lace.

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 19:10

i'm thinking christmas or birthday night out over the winter.

happilyeverafter · 10/10/2010 19:19

Lace all the way then! Would look lovely with patent shoes, lots of texture as dress looks quite plain.

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 19:23

lace sounds good.

any opinions on the ones i linked to?

Embrace the 60s!

FWIW, I think the bicolour ones will look good if you've got good legs. But cream would be better Wink

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 19:32

i have an aversion to cream tights. i don't think i could.

any chance the bicolour ones will help flatter 'not so good legs', y'know, half them?

OP posts:
KristinaM · 10/10/2010 19:32

Sorry don't like the bi coloured ones

Embelished ones are nice

I would go for lace or micro nets

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 19:33

i have good legs for cycling 50 miles on my roadbike Hmm but not slinky legs.

BelligerentGhoul · 10/10/2010 19:54

Don't like the bicolour ones at all, sorry. If you have really good legs, white lacy opaques could look lovely in a Goth-Alice sort of way.

Otherwise how about some of those sheer black ones with a sort of black embroidered tattoo print on the lower outer leg?

Otherwise tbh I'd just go with black or grey opaques. Lace could look a bit much if the dress is v short.

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 19:59

yes to the embroidered tattoo thingy.

My mum is a stylish Parisian and always told me French women match their tights to their shoe colour, it makes your legs look longer & slimmer. So anyway thats just my advice, I would say lacey black ones or sheer black ones or even bare legs/tan tights then get your colours from your make-up & accesories, think BRIGHT!

nevergoogle · 10/10/2010 23:12

what i'd give to be a stylish parisian.

black lace, deffo - zara have some good ones, decent quality without being ££££ - mine were about a tenner, I think? Primark also do some but are £1 and will ladder as soon as you look at them - strictly only for wear with dc in tow!!

lilystyles · 11/10/2010 07:39

Ha! Me too!

Granard · 11/10/2010 10:05

Good quality black opaque - like Wolford and /or heavy lace, depending on occasion.

Use your handbag or necklace to add colour.

childrenofthecornsilk · 11/10/2010 18:36

elgoo how long is it? Is it above the knee? I quite fancy that myself.

nevergoogle · 11/10/2010 20:24

it's above the knee cornsilk. quite short really. eek.
go try it on.
(i won't mention the obvious)
