Please recommend anti-frizz hair products

My hair is so thick and has a natural wave which can quickly turn to frizz.

If you use anti-frizz hair products which would you recommend? I rarely wear my hair down as at the slightest bit of damp my hair frizzes up.

Drives me insane.

Thanks in advance xx

Me too! I can't find a product that works, either too greasy or don't work at all.

www.boots.com/en/Naked-Rescue-Conditioner-250ml_863348/

Try this, just leave in wet hair and allow to dry

PaulineCampbellJones · 09/10/2010 20:35

Moroccan oil.
Living proof stuff is amazing (Space NK) as is Frederic Fekkai straight ironless balm.

Meglet · 09/10/2010 20:39

I use frizz ease but my hair still goes frizzy once the breeze hits it or the weather is damp, so it's not a wonder product IME.

It goes dead greasy if I slap on too much.

penona · 09/10/2010 20:42

I like the Kerastase Oleo Relax range - I use the shampoo, conditioner and serum/styling stuff. I find it the only thing that actually works. It is rather expensive though, so every few months I go back to frizz ease and then curse the saved pennies until it is finished!!

swedishy · 09/10/2010 20:42

'no frizz' by living proof. www.livingproof.com

you can buy it on space nk's website - not cheap but v impressive.

saltyseadog · 09/10/2010 20:44

Moroccan Oil. Not cheap but very impressive results (and smells very good too!).

Meglet · 09/10/2010 20:53

Is Kerastase only from salons?

How much does it actually cost? I've heard it's stupid money

penona · 09/10/2010 21:12

It cost about £17 a product, so for three that's £51. Eeek!! It is only in salons, I have a few locally who stock it and one of them always has a 3 for 2. So generally, £35 for the three, last for about 3 mths (you only need small amounts), so that's £10 a month or about 40p a day. (Can you tell I did maths A level?!)

Granard · 09/10/2010 21:19

You can often get deals on kerastase from www.lookfantastic.com

Kiehls Creme Silk Groom is a fantastic product. Can be used on wet hair as a styling aid or on dry hair like you would a serum.

AlwaysTheMummy · 09/10/2010 21:19

Where do you purchase the Moroccan Oil products?

OP posts:
saltyseadog · 09/10/2010 21:34

I buy it from my hairdressers. Several salons locally to me stock it so you should be able to find it quite easily.

Meglet · 09/10/2010 21:38

penona If it works I might try it. I'm fed up with wasting money on stuff that doesn't make any difference.

PaulineCampbellJones · 09/10/2010 21:49

Have you thought about getting a Brazilian blow dry. Would save you lots in the long run.

penona · 09/10/2010 21:50

I first used it in a trial pack. You can sometimes buy the Oleo Relax serum in a travel size, about 50ml. Or you could just try the serum at first? I only take that on hols with me and it's not too bad.

I am intrigued by this Moroccan Oil though. Is it just a serum you use with any old shampoo?

willybreeder · 10/10/2010 20:58

I've curly/frizzy hair and find that the day I wash it Boots curl cream goes on to damp hair - be generous with it. Then on days I wake up and it's a haystack and have no time to wash it I use Fizz Ease secret agent on to dry hair through each section and it sorts it out. When feeling flush I use Sebastian potion9 instead of Secret Agent.

Frizzbonce · 09/06/2013 22:59

Always - I have similar hair to you as you can tell from my MN name Grin

What works for me is to just shampoo once using any shampoo with no sulphate. I use Kiehls sunflower oil shampoo but swap between it and the Boots Naked range. I use any old conditioner but leave it in or leave most of it in.

I then use a squirt of the Tresemme liquid gold oil which is Argan oil based. What's made the real difference is learning to use my Babyliss big hair properly - it's worth watching a few tutorials.

But the real enemy as you say is DAMP. Even if I've had a good old go with Babyliss - the first hint of rain and I'm metamorphosing into Crystal Tipps. Remember her?

Frizzbonce · 09/06/2013 23:01

Swedishy - Do you use these products? Any good?

valiumredhead · 10/06/2013 08:43

L'Oreal Extraordinary Hair Oil is great.

I also use Frizz Ease Secret Agent finishing cream but as a serum which is miraculous on my hair!

CVSFootPowder · 10/06/2013 08:48

I have thick curly hair which had always been frizzy.
Similar routine to frizzbonce....the best thing for me was when I stopped using shampoo as often and washed with conditioner instead (curly girl method, many threads here about it). I only use shampoo once a week at most now and always a no sulphate one.
My hair doesnt smell or look greasy, it isn't nearly as dry as it used to be and frizz is a thing of the past.

JazzDalek · 10/06/2013 09:20

I have this and a tiny amount totally defrizzes my hair when used with Babyliss Big Hair:

www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=952901

I haven't used it without BBH so it might work without!

Trills · 10/06/2013 09:23

What do you do to your hair?

It could be that the way you treat it has a bigger effect than the product that you use.

If you put in product when wet, scrunch and let it dry naturally (no brushing), it's more likely to make surfer-y waves (or curls, depending on the kind of hair).

If you blow-dry or straighten then it is more likely to go frizzy.
