Do you Fly boots leak?

I've just bought my first pair of Fly boots.

(Black Mes calf length)

They are super comfy and I'm well plaesed.

BUT I've now read a few reviews that have siad they leak in wet weather.

Well what the bloody hell use is that?? I want robust boots that keep my feet warm and dry in all weathers.

If they are leaky I'm going to take them back as they're no use to me.

Any experiences?

to be honest, although they are pricey, i'd put fly boots in the fashion boot bracket. have a pair of mols, love them, the look great, but i don't wear them in the rain. light rain, maybe, but in heavy rain i switch to wellies for the school run. mine haven't leaked (yet!) and they have been out in the odd shower.

I want my boots to look good and be practical.

I don't think that's asking too much.

Boots are for cold miserable weather imo so leaky boots are going back.

No but I make that assumption about winter boots.

Ok not wade through puddles waterproof, but if I can't wear them in the rain they're useless to me. It rains alot.

they leak at the seam between upper and sole.

It's pointless spraying them.

They also have that thing where the insoles detach and runkle up when your foot sweats a bit.

And they stretch round the ankle.

I hate mine! Take them back now Smile

Take them back quick! They're atrocious. They leak on wet pavements even.
They don't age well either.
Mine are for the bin.

BridesheadRegardless · 08/10/2010 11:52

Oh really??

leaky on wet pavements?? that's useless.

I will take them back. I have worn them once but I think leakyness is a valid rason for returning boots and I shall say so very loadly in the shop!

Very wise!!

I can't walk trough dewy grass without getting wet feet when wearing fly mols, they are strictly fashion standard not everyday wear. So glad I only paid £40, agree too about wet pavements (avoiding walking through the smallest of puddles). They are fair weather boots.

miniwedge · 08/10/2010 13:34

I have the patent knee length ones, can't remember the name but I have had them over a year, worn in snow, wet weather etc and never leaked. Still look brand new but i wear them a lot in shit weather.

Don't stretch or get wrinkly insole either. I think it might depend on the style of the boot maybe?

neytiri · 08/10/2010 14:43

mine were only £40 too so wiling to suffer the odd soggy sock!

peekopink · 24/01/2014 13:45

3 years on from this post.... I now have the same problem with my FLY boots. I have contacted FLY direct who said they can only deal with me had I bought my boots direct from one of thier london shops or from their website. I'm sure under the trades description act, they must have to resolve this issue.... disgruntled from Chichester! :-(

kerstina · 24/01/2014 17:06

The stupid thing about fly boots is that they are the most comfortable boots I have so I tend to walk in them a lot. I got holes in mine really quick and the mes boots leaked but I still buy them but only when they are on offer on amazon or javari. I can't see why they can't resolve the issues with leaking and make the wedge soles last longer then they would be even more popular.

cherryhealey · 24/01/2014 19:55

My Fly boots are ok in rain but my £150 Dune boots leave me with soggy socks....hate hate hate.

alltoomuchrightnow · 24/01/2014 21:29

yes, fashion boots. I've had loads.. they are v comfortable.. i still wear them....but no good in the rain
