What footwear do your 7-9yr old boys wear out of school?

At the moment our boys are wearing their trainers for everything from football to shopping. Said trainers are, needless to say, about to fall apart at the seams so an autumn/winter shoe shopping expedition is called for.

They will get new trainers which they'll pretty much only wear for football and scuffing about.

In the past, we've gone the Geox route for something smarter. A formal, leather shoe won't get the wear. Is Geox the way to go or any other suggestions please?

Thanks. Smile

'Buckle My Shoe' leather converse style shoes or boots, they don't do half sizes though. I really want to get him some Kickers but he is not sure that they are 'cool'

trainers.

Only the ones he likes, though - football-stylie.

And some of those slip-on plimsols, they are check ones.

He would die rather than put on Geox ones!

My ds is like yours and wears his trainers for everything. In the winter we also buy him some boots last years where like Timberlands and he wears them if we're doing something rainy/muddy. If we go to something formal ie. PIL's anniversary he wears his school shoes.

He'd sleep in his trainers given half a chance.

Hi,I have trouble with links but I get my boys who are 9 and 5,the Boden baseball boots. They are fab and have velco so no pesky laces! They have trainers too but wear the boots if we are going out and about. They are smart but casual enough and certainely get the wear from them.
Boots

Am ridiculously pleased that actually got a link to work!Grin

Nothing will do anymore unless it is a pair of skateboard trainers for my 9yr old. Then there is the laces, how can small boys become so obsessed with laces?

oh brilliant - thanks for all the replies. Shall look at links and recommendations later - on mobile at moment and it's about all I can manage to post from it!

second the Boden Baseball boots. I cant bear trainers to be worn all the time - only for sport!

Mine wear trainers for playing out in and polished school shoes if we go shopping or somewhere nice. Walking boots or snow boots( wellies are to cold) when walking the dogs. Mostly take the dogs to a nice park were they ride bike they have trainers on.

Mine wears DCs or Vans (trainer-like, but more "street" than "sporty").
