Have to get some new ones - Joules crap, two pair with holes in now. Walk dogs every day. Do I go Hunters? Not sure about DuBarries (is that how you spell?) Seen some great Merrell waterproof ones but a little more ££ but money well spent? Advice wise MN's

i've got a pair of leather waterproof merrell ones and they're great - really warm unlike wellies (though i am in scotland) and can't be worn at all in summer.

my friend has same pair and hers have now done two winters dog walking and going strong.

mine still look great but i don't have a dog and have only had them one winter.

I have Hunters, shortie ones. V comfy and not too pricey on Amazon.

Gurraun · 02/10/2010 15:13

I have some Dubarrys. I love them BUT for the £xxx's I'd expect them to last for ever however often they are worn. Mine are probably 3/4 years old and are starting to leak - but I do have a horse so they are worn outside in all sorts of yukky weather and I haven't exactly looked after them. I have friends who have similar boots eg Toggi that are much less expensive and seem to be as good (depends how much of a label mabel you are!)

greedygoose · 02/10/2010 15:42

haha at label mabel! (I'm not really)

Le Chameau. My first pair of properly posh, Vibram-soled, almost as comfy as walking boots wellies. Xmas present last year. Over £100 Shock (I am normally a cheapskate) but OH how I love them, and worth every penny - I walk in them every day round these wet and rural parts in the autumn and winter!

I'm watching with interest, I wanted a pair of hunter wellies, but the reviews on Amazon are poor since they changed manufacturing to China. dh bought as pair of Aigles and they are really nice, but I don't want us to match and they only came in one colour. (They're the neoprene ones).

Does anyone have experience of hunters neoprene boots?

I have a pair of Hunters that I bought about 3 years ago and they are still brilliant and comfy enough to wear for long dog-walks - the only thing is that you need to buy some thick socks as they aren't that warm.

LIZS · 03/10/2010 11:12

Hunters - bought eons ago before they got ££££ You can get fleece liners for them too

onimolap · 03/10/2010 11:21

I've got ancient Hunters, Dubarries (about 4years old now and still fine) and a pair of cheap paddock boots which seem indestructible.

fitflopqueen · 03/10/2010 11:27

Hunters -festival wellies, got in an end of season sale, do last well and comfy if you have thick socks.

dexter73 · 03/10/2010 20:27

I have an older version of these but they are pull on. Totally waterproof and warm. Couldn't be without them!

I have aubergine Hunters, really pleased with them, I walked miles in them last winter in the snow/ice/rain and they were great.
