Right now I either wear it down, or up (in a sort of low side plait, falling on the oppostie side to where it started, bit of a 'bun' effect at the bottom).

I am sooo bored of this but don't know what else to do!

I have quite curly brown hair, couple of inches past my shoulder, very frizzy texture so straightening it not really an option cos it looks rubbish!

Ooh I love the sound of your plait! I'm really crap at proper styles... Please can you tell me how to do it?!

Curiousmama · 01/10/2010 21:32

Can you post a pic? Do you use intensive conditioners?
Have you tried a razor cut? It can look good on curly hair.

Go for a consultation they're free and if you can't afford the salon at least you'll have ideas to take elswhere?

Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 21:35

I'm sure razors are a big no no for curly hair? (I also have curly / wavy hair)

Curiousmama · 01/10/2010 21:37

sorry meant choppy look yes you're right.

redhappy · 01/10/2010 21:39

Thanks, I know the basic cut I want...need to keep it long, needs the weight otherwise it goes a bit crazy! And I have layers, it's wavy all over, and v.curly at the front, so needs bit of encouragement from mousse and hairspray for curl all over and I just can't be bothered to do it everyday.

I only was it once or twice a week, never blow dry, never brush, intensive conditioner every time I wash. It really is just the texture. It actually feels quite soft, but if you look at an individual strand it's kind of 'crinkly' quite similar to afro hair.

Will see if I can pic to post choca

I would love to be able to do this...

Curiousmama · 01/10/2010 21:45

Ahh so it's not the cut sorry got the wrong end of the stick.

Looks lovely choca. Best if your hair isn't just washed but having curly hair you'll know that already no doubt.

redhappy · 01/10/2010 21:49

Wow yes it's same principle as that, except mine is really basic! Instead of continuing as a plait, when it reaches my neck (should be at the side by then) I just put it in a loose bun.

So nobody does anything fun and funky with their hair and wants to share then!?

OP posts:
Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 21:55

I wish I could do something funky with my hair it's normally down when I go out and in a kind of bun when I'm at home...

Considering this style www.hairstyles-haircuts.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/charlize-theron-wavy-hair1.jpg

but can guarantee I'll be too scared by the time I get to the hairdresser (my hair is currently just below my bra strap)

Curiousmama · 01/10/2010 21:57

Choc isn't that plait you linked starting from the back then round?

redhappy · 01/10/2010 21:58

Have you got curly or straight hair? That style would be lot of work everyday!
But it is very lovely!!

OP posts:
Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 22:01

CM- it looks like it starts from the top? Don't know I'm totally rubbish where plaits are concerned!

redhappy · 01/10/2010 22:05

O yeah I like that last one, I've bookmarked. Would take some serious practice at first but I reckon it could be quite quick to do actually once you've got the hand of it.

Where are you finding these? I don't know what to search for on google

OP posts:
redhappy · 01/10/2010 22:12

Have put 2 pics up, first one from last year, then I found one from last weekend (holding my daughter).

Redhappy, can only see one pic and you have lovely hair! Just google curly updos, curly hair etc and look at images x

Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 22:19

redhappy · 01/10/2010 22:21

OK, think I've got the settings right...I really want to know how to do the fishtail thing. I think I will look on youtube for a tutorial

OP posts:
redhappy · 01/10/2010 22:26

OP posts:
Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 22:29

I really like that! Not sure if I could even do it though! I obviously should practise more...

redhappy · 01/10/2010 22:32

It's the pic of te back of her head in the little gallery on the right that I'm interested in!

OP posts:
Chocamochalatte · 01/10/2010 22:39

Now it's possible that even I could do that! (maybe) it's lovely...

Curiousmama · 02/10/2010 10:28

Choco that first one does start at the back. I used to do a lot of wedding hair and am pretty sure it does.

Lovely styles and I think you look gorg redhappy Smile

Where's your pic choc Wink? I have straight choppy hair so no point putting my pic up Grin

Curiousmama · 02/10/2010 10:29

redhappy can really see you with the miley one it's lovely.

Curiousmama · 02/10/2010 10:30

Do either of you ever use large rollers first or a large barrel hot brush? It's sometimes nice to get hair smoother before working your wax/serum through then styling.
