Can anyone recommend something for ds that is warm/practical/machine washable complete with big enough hood (ie it covers his rather large head completely rather than just half the head)that STAYS UP! dd has a fleece lined boden anorak that has been going for years (I always buy big!) - but I have missed the 25% off - drats! But maybe there is something better (and cheaper) than that out there - I just can't find it!

Have you had a look in Gap?

Their warmest jacket might be what you're looking for.

m&s aren't bad for boys with big heads!

ds2 had a Gap one last year and hood wasn't great.
but tbh you need to try before you buy i guess as they can vary so much

oh, jojo maman bebe polartec ones have a good hood too

I have this for my ds who is 3

Baby gap go to age 4. I got ds a 4 and it's rather big. Its definitely worth a look. I used the 30% off voucher but its expired now. Think there's a 15% off one around. Not sure I would pay £40 for it but was a bargain at £28.
