I don't want to feel cold this winter so want to invest in a long (knee length) padded/duvet style jacket. I'm looking for something reasonably slimline, possibly in brown (def not black or white) with a detachable hood. My budget is £200 or thereabouts. TIA.

Thanks, have just had a quick browse but not really what I'm after ie more insulated and snow-proof than waterproof, if you know what I mean. I'd look a bit ridiculous with my duvet wrapped around me in the playground (believe me I was tempted last winter) but want to have the next best thing!

I would LOVE this one

MaggieW · 01/10/2010 13:43

Hobbittoes - that's exactly what I'm after - only thing is I don't like the logo being so obvious, but otherwise it's perfect.

What about this or <a class="break-all" href="//irwww.landsend.co.uk/pp/Chevron-Down-Coat-~9551_59.html?bcc=y&CM_MERCH=IDX_00002__0000000022&origin=index" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

Hobbittoes, the Lands End one is perfect. Can't open the second link though. Thank you!

Have had one of these in mind after freezing my bum off at side of football pitch last weekend. If I had girls I could sit in warm ballet class reading the paper Smile

I got one from timberland in jan in the sale - it is perfect. Down filled so very light and very slim fitting too.

Can't see any on their site yet.

moragbellingham · 01/10/2010 16:46

I was going to say Timberland - they were about £180 last year full price.

I have a Land's end one but would love a North Face arctic Parka cos it's waterproof too.

moragbellingham · 01/10/2010 16:49

Actually I have last year's version of this The finish is water repellent and a bit more substantial than the chalet coat but same warmth (although chalet is lighter).
I got both to compare and sent the chalet back.

hobbittoes · 01/10/2010 17:12

Maggie the second link was another Landsend puffy coat with a furry hood.

hobbittoes · 01/10/2010 17:14

Morag beat me to it {smile]

dustwhatdust · 01/10/2010 22:22
