Can I revamp my wardrobe for £200?

I had a baby 6.5 months ago, and have now managed to shift most of the 3st I put on (although still have a wobbly tummy and bigger thighs than I'd like). It's my birthday this week so I'm going clothes shopping with my birthday money. Pre-pregnancy I lived in jeans, T-shirts/plainish tops and trainers (Converse or skater-type), and basically dessed almost the same way as I have since I was a student (I'm 29 now). I'd like to be a bit more stylish.. I quite like the jersey dress with leggings/thick tights and boots look. Or skinny jeans with tunic-y tops.

I don't have a huge amount to spend, and I'm still trying to lose a bit more weight, so don't want to shell out on things that might be too big in another few months, but I was thinking:

skinny jeans
leggings
gypsy style tops
jersey dress(es)
long cardigan
inexpensive jacket

Probably from the likes of H&M, New Look, River Island, Topshop, Warehouse, Oasis etc.

I have ordered these boots, so want to build my warbrobe around them.

Any thoughts/ideas/advice?

Easily done imo. For basics, Primark is your friend. Their skinny jeans are my fave, along with ones from Oasis. For long t shirts to layer with they're good too. H & M is where I always buy jackets, I have very narrow shoulders and skinny arms and they fit like a dream where other shops are too baggy.
I have to say I'd avoid gypsy tops and jersey dresses if you'#re still losing weight. They have the nasty ability to make you look pregnant. If you're set on a jersey dress, that's the one item I'd spend money on, and make sure you have some cracking underwear to go underneath, as it will cling.

H and M has some really good stuff in at the moment IMHO. I think Booboo may have a point about jersey dresses - you have to get the drape right! warehouse have quite a few really nice dresses/tunics at the moment; not all jersey but v flattering. Some quite short, but could be worn with opaque or lace tights or leggings. Even over jeans. Have a look at the website.

Thanks BooBooGlass. I actually have a couple of gypsy tops from New Look that are really good for hiding my tummy. I was thinking along the lines of empire line jersey dresses, again to skim the tummy area. Not sure how it will actually look though.

Get yourself on ebay, you'll get quality brands and really nice things for £200.

Hadn't thought of ebay; I quite like to try things on before I buy them. Also looking forward to a day at the shops; DH is taking a day off work to look after DD so it'll be my first baby-free shopping trip in ages! Maybe if I see some more expensive things I can check ebay afterwards to try and get a bargain.

With £200 I would head to the high street. I think your list is a good one and you will be able to mix and match your items.
I recently bought some high waist skinny jeans that are very flattering and 'hold it all in' Grin. They were around £22 from Next. I also got a pair of black leggings and a pair of charcoal grey leggings in there for £8 each.
Warehouse has some nice dresses. I tried on a longsleeve red/black pattern one on JL the other day. It was very flattering and around £45. French Connection also had a nice floral tunic for £55.
The Boden boyfriend cardigan makes a useful wardrobe addition (XTHB code will get you £10 off).
I would head to H&M for some cheap and chearful tops.
et voila! You are set for winter

Well, the boots arrived and they don't fit. Too big, but not big enough that a size down would fit. They don't come in half sizes. And my whole wardrobe was planned around the boots. Why can't I find plain dark brown, leather, ankle-height biker boots?

I actually feel a bit like crying over these stupid boots, I looked everywhere for them and was so pleased to have finally found some. And now I have no idea what to buy on Friday.
