We are skint so I will have to collect bits slowly and thats even the cheaper bits but could you please help me find some stuff that would suit me. I really can't afford to spend much anyway but also because I am still losing weight as bfing.

I still see clothes that I like but realise they would have suited me pre kids when I was all skinny and hipless. I gave up shopping about the time when I had children as it got too depressing

Now I am a horrible shape to dress and even struggle finding jeans that fit

So about me so you can help

Ok I'm 5foot 11 with inside leg about 34
Ive just measured myself with some string at b-38 w-32 h-44

I have dark brown shoulderlength hair. Most colours suit me especially autumnal colours but no reds and not really blues.
I'm not very good at fussy but do love pattern. I'm a sahm whos pretty practical so would need sensible stuff

Can you help?

What kind of size would you say you are at the moment?

Sounds like 14/16 ish? Bit pear shaped?

Hi,

I haven't got any specific clothes links for you but I found this site really useful for putting SAHM outfits together. You could find the items needed cheaply but look "pulled together"!

I don't know because nothing I've tried seems to fit comfortably. My stomachs ok with a little wobble from having 4 babies but I'm wide so that makes the measurements bigger. Same with my bum, its not big just my hips are wide.
My waist is a 12 but my boobs wouldnt allow it so I tend to wear a 14 then they bag around the stomach (I hate my boobs I'm hoping they'll go down again).
Trousers some are 14 some are 16. Mainly theyre 16 to get over my thighs and hips then I have to hoik them in at the waist to stop them falling down.

Book in to see a personal shopper at somewhere like John Lewis. I saw one after I lost a lot of weight and had no idea how to dress for my new shape. I did have a fixed budget to spend (I needed work clothes) but there was no real pressure to spend any of it.

She was wonderful at making me try things that I wouldn't have looked twice at, and at giving little tips for dressing that made clothes more flattering.

I did spend most of my budget, but nowhere near all of it so there is absolutely no pressure. I did, however, come away with a few things to mix and match with my other clothes so I felt like I really got value for money.

I might try that (I still think your names welsh even though I do 'know all') if I can get rid of the kids for more than 5 minutes

Those who know these things, what sort of shape dresses would be best as I would like wool dresses to wear with tights and boots and also best shaped necklines, I'm assuming not to high?

oh and also are their any shape maxi dresses I could get away with or would I look too hippy (hipbones not peace man)

I would have thought wrap dresses (generally flattering) could be good. You are right about the neckline - scoop neck OK and boat neck widens the shoulders and therefore helps balance the hips. Some of drapey dresses around at the moment could be nice. Also, some contol underwear ( a la spanx) can be really confidence boosting under dresses. Marks and Spencers do a good cheaper version here.

You could wear this sort of thingwith leggings and boots or with thick lace tights and shoe boots. Not too tight over tummy. If separates are better then plain maxi skirt with flattering top? I have this maxi skirt - v flattering.

Maxi dress - def worth a try at your height. Need something that skims rather than clings, also would avoid the 'tiered' styles as they are rarely flattering over a size 10 IMHO.
