What to wear with fab tweed pencil skirt

I have just about dieted back into a fab L.A.M.B. tweedy pencil skirt I got in the States a few years ago (so no linkie I'm afraid). It has lots of sage green, mustard yellow and a bit of brown. Sorry, I'm not making it sound brilliant but it is a classic.

It is so long since I've worn it that I can't remember what I used to do with it. I like the whole Madmen thing so have been thinking of a tightish sweater/cardie plus belt, but I worry about the colour - whether too much green/yellow that close to my face (a) wouldn't suit me and (b) is a bit too themey.

Charcoal maybe?

Any ideas? A bit stuck here.

I take it back. Too fussy.

No don't take it back - it's lovely. It costs enough to feed a family of 5 for a fortnight, but it's still lovely!

Lovely skirt.

I agree, either a cream/off-white silk shirt, tucked in or a fitted cropped jumper or cardi (v neck) with belt over the top. In cream, mushroomy or black/grey. That would all work. You dno't want too much frill or detail on the top half to detrack from the skirt imo.

That cardigan is lovely.

Do you think it might be a bit too long with the skirt though and thus have frump potential?

How about a camisole tucked in and then a cropped grey cardigan? Do M&S still do their cute cropped cotton ones? And then you'd still have money to feed a familiy of five...:)
