Hi everyone! Put on a lot of weight during pregnancy (2 stones) and I'm now struggling to get rid of it. A friend of mine has recently lost a lot of weight taking a slimming pill called Vita-Lean. Apparently has no side-effects.
She looked gorgeous but, to be frank, I still don't know if it's really a good product, would like to have some more feedback, u know. I'm not really sure if I want to take it, so I was wondering if anyone had heard of it? Does anyone know anything about it? Thanks all.

Hmmm. Tbh, I confess I don't know anything about it but would be cautious before spending out. I tried EVERYTHING and am personally doubtful that many of the slimming products do much at all.
The only thing that made a difference for me was Alli, and that is clinically well proven to help. In the end I turned to the Cambridge diet, and that was awesome for me.

Everyone has to tackle weightloss in their own way, I think, and don't listen to anyone who tells you either that there is a miracle cure OR that nothing at all can help you. If you want to try it and you think it's safe, go for it. I reckon maybe even if a product has only minimal effects, taking it might mean you are more likely to eat less/better than if you did nothing.

Good luck!

I think that all of these pills (and there are several, Ali for example) work by binding themselves to fat molecules and then the fat slips out of you without being broken down and absorbed... this does equal LEAKAGE! I don't know this from experience, but I've also read that as well as attaching themselves to the fat, they attach to various vitamins too, so you are being malnourished why you take them!

If you want a quick fix, try this, I swear it works. 2 bowls of porridge made with soya milk, and 2 bowls (40gms) All bran with soya milk + strawberries/satsumas for 3 days. You'll lose about five pounds in three days if you have 2 stone to lose. Maybe more.

that is 2 bowls of porridge and 2 of all bran per day plus fruit/salads

Hi, got more info from my friend: basically, Vita-lean is all organic (herbs) and makes you feel full, so you don't eat too much. Of course on its own it doesn't work, you also have to eat properly, go to the gym etc. What u think? Am confused, really don't know what to do. I have tried lots of solution to loose weight, but nothing has worked so far!

OP my way of thinking is that if you're eating properly, exercising well etc you shouldn't need pills.

Are these things you can say 100% you are already doing consistantly?

I have a friend of a friend who sells herbal slimming tabs, she is looking fab now but then she started exercising and healthy eating at the same time so that is prob main reason why weight came off not the pills. Although because she is selling them as a business she has more motivation in staying trim so they have prob helped her willpower no end!

They are veyr expensive (just looked them up) Exercise and eat that right food this is the way that works and is good for your body. If you are already doing this and are not losing weight then go to you GP and get your thyroid checked as thyroid trouble is quite common postnatally.

If all it took to be slim was a pill then there would be no fat people in the world.

Of course the pill will work in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise but if you just use the cost of the pill to buy lots of nice fruit and veg instead you will lose weight and still have some nice things to eat.

Umm... I used Alli to kick my arse into shape this time. It worked for me as it made me VERY aware of what I was eating. Lost 6lb in 17 days and NO side affects at all.

Only took it with lunch and evening meal as breakfast is fat free.
I am hoping that it will have persuaded me back into heathly eating.

I've tried Alli (the one on prescription from the doctor which is much cheaper and a bit stronger) and it did work as I was terrifed to eat anything that would 'leak out'. I've stopped it now as there were reports about kidney problems. What about a slimming club? They do work, I have lost over 2 stone at Slimming World since the end of July.
