Shearling boots- will they become downmarket very quickly? Fashion soothsayers needed!

I have just bought a lovely pair of boots for winter that are very similar to these but with a lower heel and no platform. They are cosy and lovely and rather on trend.

But thinking about it the whole aviator/shearling trend is being so heavily marketed, it's now available EVERYWHERE and I can see it being very popular with footballer's wives type-people.

So, my question is, in a month or two will these lovely boots mark me as a jeggings-wearing cheryl-cole worshipping young woman? (which I am not!) Should I cut my losses now and return the boots?

Please don't tell me to just wear them if I like them as I simply won't be able to like them if they become downmarket. I will feel too self conscious.

Am not quite sure what you mean by "downmarket" - all popular trends end up being copied at all price ranges in the end, but I don't believe the fact that New Look are doing a £30 pleather version of the aviator in any way detracts from the beauty of a Rick Owens/Acne ££££ version of the same thing. If it's a lovely garment it's a lovely garment.
Now, if you mean ubiquitous then yes, I think there may well be a lot of shearling around this season, but I've had a shearling coat for years now and have worn and will continue to wear it whatever (although it isn't an aviator style so is a bit more timeless).
To be honest, I know they're not the ones you've got but those ASOS boots are a bit cheap and tarty looking imo although am sure yours are not! Can you not link to the ones you've bought?

If you can turn them up the shearling would be hidden anyway later on.

IIn all honesty , I do love the whole heeled hiking boot trend, but I also think it's a one season wonder really. If you spent lots of wonga on them, you may be better with some that'll at least last a few seasons? Uggs maybe, or yeti style ones, or buckled boots of some sort?

If you only expect them to last one season, keep them if you love them though - I got some fab over-the-knees last year deluding myself they were investment, but will not wear again Blush

Isn't that the joy of fashion? Wear them while you can!
