Now then, I am having very good results with Elvive Serum. There are different types for different types of hair. I think I got mine for "hair that can double as wire wool" or something. I got mine from Saino's. It was half price a couple of weeks ago. Keratase products are good too, but £££££££.

Brazilian blow dry. If you've got £150 or so to spare.

Ojon restorative treatment from QVC

HumphreyCobbler · 20/09/2010 21:59

stop washing it in shampoo and just use a small amount of conditioner instead.

I use shampoo about once a month, my hair is in brilliant condition

You need the Curly Girl Method

I have okish results with Keratase products.
Have found the Body Shop do an intensive conditioner (in a tub not the bottle stuff) that helps tame my mad mop.

Still not found the dream product.... Is it that hard to tame mad hair?

Japanese Permanent straightening. My hairdresser uses the Shiseido treatment, but there are many different types with equally fab results.

I do it once a year to touch up roots - best money I've ever spent in my life.

It doesn't look horridly "poker straight-ish" but it NEVER gets frizzy (and I live in the bloody tropics, so humidity is a daily joy)

I can even AIR DRY my hair now without looking like neurotic poodle Shock

Rub olive oil into your head and leave it there for a couple of hrs before washing out as normal, it's also really good to stop bad reactions to product building up and causing any problems.

Try sleeping on a satin pillowcase! it keeps hair frizz-free and stops it drying out. I use one from www.satinskin.co.uk:)

TIGI Bed head shampoo and conditioner

It TRANSFORMED my hair!

I'm a hairdresser and have used some really good products over the years. The best for very dry, frizzy hair is L'anza Moisturising shampoo, IMO. They do a moisture treatment too, which is also good. The shampoo is so good that you almost don't need a conditioner with it. (but do use one!)

AnyFucker · 20/09/2010 23:46

a good haircut ?

BitOfFun · 20/09/2010 23:48

Stop having so much sex. Or at least go on top.

Tragically, I am living proof that you can get frizzy hair without having ANY SEX AT ALL. Honestly, life is so unfair sometimes.

I follow a bone-idle version of the Curly Girl Method. Then my hair gets all lovely, I absent-mindedly start washing it again and (of course) it slowly transmogrifies from wonderfully wavy to frenziedly frizzy. And ... begin again!

Lazy version: Don't wash your hair. If it feels dirty, just 'wash' it with conditioner. If it feels really dirty, rub clear vinegar on your scalp then rinse it out. Now and again, put olive oil on it (you will have to wear a burka if you need to go out) and don't wash that off, either. Looks shite for the first couple of weeks, then all of a sudden your hair rediscovers its true vocation ... being beautiful and low-maintenance :)
