Single White Female! help me look different to my work colleague!

Unintentionally (I think/hope) a close work colleague any myself dress very similarly. We also have the same haircut/colour/make up style (she is a few years older than me). We are reasonably similar build and height (I am slightly taller).

It is starting to freak me out! Today we both had flowery tea dresses and opaque tights, although different colours, thank God.

A few months ago we had the same identical black dress, sash belt and jacket. Blush

We tend to wear Boden/Toast/Hobbs etc. etc. Soon people will not be able to tell us apart!

It is getting so ridiculous that I feel like I need a new style.

What shall I buy? The only things we don't have in common are tunics/leggings which I like and she doesn't (although these are no good for work).

I am about 5' 8", size 8-10, athletic build, crap stumpy legs, very small boobs, plear shape.

Any ideas?

(I like her a lot, BTW, it's not intentional and I'm not annoyed).

No ideas, but great title to remember scary film!

Dye your hair?! Go and see a wardrobe consultant?! Dunno really...

Weekly wardrobe planning meetings in the short term! Grin

Sounds like you need to branch out with your shopping slightly perhaps? You have a great figure so the world is your lobster!

Have a look at ASOS (has such a huge range) and maybe try ordering a few things that are slightly differnt to try.

Start buying her boxes of chocolates/bags of doughnuts to fatten her up?

Alternatively, a large facial tattoo will make you (or her, if you can get her drunk enough in the vicinity of a tattoo parlour) look more distinctive.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 20/09/2010 21:31

Or make all your colleagues start dressing the same way, especially the men, so that the two of you don't stand out so much?

NanasInJamas · 21/09/2010 06:00

Thanks everyone. I think 'branching out' may indeed be the key, notyummy. I am/we are a White Stuff/Boden walking stereotype at the moment. ASOS here I come.

But I do like the fattening up plan. Grin

Military!! Some fab jackets around and will get you away from the Boden look. How about a military leather jacket? I would love one but size 16/18 with huge boobs doesn't lend itself...

JustBeachy · 21/09/2010 17:56

What about going for a more classic, tailored style for work - maybe go more monochrome if she wears alot of prints? I like this look this blouse or this one with wide leg trousers and have you got a classic work dress

You could always add bright shoes/jewellery/coat/scarf if you want to brighten up ...

NanasInJamas · 21/09/2010 20:21

AllarmBells- Military...hadn't really thought of that. Quite like the defined shoulder look. (I don't wear leather, sorry).

JustBeachy- yes, a classci look would be a great solution. Ironically before having kids that's what I wore! Today I decided to get all of my classic plain suits dry-cleaned and get away from the prints. Trouble is, I need lots more new clothes now and no money! Thanks for the links. Asos will be my downfall. Grin
