The Boden patent knee-high boots - mixed messages about calf sizes - what size ARE they?

In one review it says the calves are large and suitable for those generous of calf - in another it says they are really narrow

Does anyone actually own them and can measure them for me at their maximum?

I've had my eye on these, but just cant justify the price since when is £179 ok for a pair of boots.

I find the reviews abit odd sometimes, like they have been linked to the wrong item, i'd just order them and decide for yourself.

I have a couple pairs of Boden boots - not that particular pair (sadly), but I also have very lardy legs and they both fit just fine.

You could email them for exact measurements - I have done in the past.

I have just done a Boden party and there were 3 pairs of patent boots there (which I tried on!)

The boots have a stretchy bit at the top (which can be tightened up with a buckle). I have very wide calves (41cm) and could only just get them done up - so am guessing the max calf size is 40cm but with the stretchy bit done up with the buckle I would guess maybe 36-38cm.

The blue ones are gorgeous

I tried these and I think they are reasonably wide but I sent them back as they look like prostitute's wellingtons.

Only the pink ones!

how do you get to do a Boden party btw? Who do you ask?
