make up brushes -- any advice?

Getting married in October, and had a make over by MAC a few days ago. Loved the finish of the foundation brush, but it was horribly expensive.

Any suggestions for good make up brushes?

TIA Smile

I have a Bobbi Brown foundation brush - cost my ex-dh £50 12 years ago (was my main Christmas present Grin). Looks as new so I think good brushes are worth it

Body Shop.
Not sure about the foundation brush but the face and body one is very soft.

Think the MAC brushes alone were about £75 Shock

Added up all products they used (and suggested I buy) and it came to more than it would be to hire her for the day.... Hmm

Try QVC for bobbi brown brushes - might be cheaper.

I got a lovely Bobbi Brown brush kit for Xmas - it's a travel kit so they all have short handles which seems to make them much cheaper. Perhaps a good way to get more brushes for your money?

why are they so £££ ??
I got some smashbox ones from ebay -they are fab ,although could be fakes I don't mind ,they work.

I have a full Laura Mercier kit and the odd Estee Lauder one. Good brushes will last a lifetime and are worth spending on IMO. My cheap ones last about 2 years of almost daily use and then lose their shape or most if their hair.

You don't necessarily need loads.

I have a Ruby and Millie one - tis fine.

I buy No 7 or R&M brushes, whenever they do the 5 pound off voucher in Boots. Don't like No 7 make up but the brushes are good.

Why oh why did I give the £5 No 7 voucher to the nice check out lady at Sainsburys? Hmm Oh well.

It's either good brushes or a good photographer who does airbrushing
