Need warm cardigan for big boobs - which to buy?

I would like to be warm this winter, for once! The cardies I have are either warm but ugly or look fine but not warm enough come November!
So far, have found
a) s/s cashmere cardie from La Redoute
b) Merino wool l/s cardie from Celtic Sheepskin
c) S/s merino cardigan from White Company

They're all a lot of money, far more than I have ever spent on anything other than a coat! But I want something thin and warm, that seems to cost more? I tried the White Co one on last month and it felt so lovely, dp said it suited me but I was having a bad day so didn't buy it (plus could get it cheaper online!). Not sure now! I am perfectly happy with sleeveless, would rather wear two tops and a sleeveless cardie really. But maybe because I have never had a lovely l/s cardigan!
I'm a size 18 at present, with 36H boobs. Sad Help!

OK so you want something longer length, yes?

A few people have bought this today and this

FiveOrangePips · 17/09/2010 23:24

I like both a (I think I like it best) and b, not so keen on c because of the belt.

I am 30G and short, so a belted cardigan would not work for me.

Yes longer is good. I actually just bought the boden wrap cardie and it's going back, it just feels thin and it's got hardly any wool so won't be warm. I love the shape of the other Boden one but it's very thin and just cotton I think? Would wear that the rest of the year, was thinking of ordering it actually but not good for winter.

Yes, it was the belt that put me off, but I'm not terribly short though. Hmmm. I have a s/s one in lightweight fabric (from Fat Face) and I do just look shapeless in it!

M&S have lots of lovely cardis in at the moment. I bought 3 the other day and I have big norks too. Quite reasonably priced too.

I find cardigans SO difficult. I don't have enormous boobs (30DD) but measure 27" under boobs so everything hangs off them, making me look the same width all over. I also have a stupidly long body. I find boyfriend cardigans the best, and they are warm, but don't look smart for work, and probably would not be good on you, since you are little (I am 5'8"). Love all those waterfally type ones, but they just look wrong, wrong, wrong.

Sorry, have been no help at all, but needed that bit of cardigan offloading.

I tried a boyfriend cardie in H&M today although it was only cotton but bought it as I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it. Suited me much more than waterfall style ones. I do despair of them too really but if I wear a jumper they're either unforgiving or make me look like a sack of potatoes.

I did have a look at M&S online, tefal, thanks, nothing caught my eye but I might go into the store & try some on. I really fancy some cashmere as I've never had it!

I have just bought this in a size 16, personal I don?t think this picture does it much justice though Confused. It looks quite good with just one button done up near the top. It is pretty warm.

My boobs are up in the G?s somewhere ATM, I?ve had big boobs since I was about 13, if I?m lucky they go down to an E when I?m at my very trimmest. I have to say I usually try nice big jumpers on and feel hideous usually because the sleeves make me look so wide.

accessorizequeen · 18/09/2010 21:45

thanks, living, I quite like that one, saw a v.similar one in Debenhams this morning but put off by the furry hood for some reason. I've never worn much grey but it seems the colour of the season!

Livingbytheriver · 18/09/2010 22:09

Hmmm, not sure about fur either...I don't normally go for grey myself, but I couldn't resist with this one, I think the v-neck bit makes it better for bigger boobs too.

noddyholder · 18/09/2010 22:18

Anything but waterfall MUMSY!esp with boobs although horrific on most people.Something fine and longish with v little detail and the best quality you can afford really helps the busty among us!If you want detail maybe around the cuffs otherwise plain

brimfull · 18/09/2010 22:42

short sleeved cardis do nothing for big boobs

the sleeve line is the same as boob line and makes you look bigger

I've got GIANT norks and after years of spending a bloody fortune on cardigans from Boden and the like, I bought a £12 boyfriend number from Sainsbury's the other day and it's just great. The boyfriend cardigan I have from Boden makes me look like a particularly shapeless bear, but this Sainsbury's number is the business. They have a variety of colours but the fabric is relatively thin - though warm - and drapes in a flattering manner.

LastOrdersAgain · 19/09/2010 00:48

I bought this the other day, and its lovely!

Long sleeved, has give in it, machine washable. I'm a size 16/18 up top, with quite large norks, and its great.

A bit £££ but I used a 30% off voucher on it.

accessorizequeen · 19/09/2010 09:08

thanks all, I ordered the white co sleeveless one last night, will send it back if it looks vile. Take your point ggirl. I have a v.thin s/s one from summer and it looks great but other things don't.
Lastorders, it's a nice cardie but I wanted something longer really.
Will take a look at Sainsbos next time I'm in there! Phaps I could layer thin cardigans, boyfriend one over l/s top and then sleeveless cardie too?
I just can't find many long & thin ones that are also warm, if you see any more let me know!
