The oil cleansing method described on this thread is fantastic. And if using almond oil, you can buy it cheaply at asian market shops (rather than from chain chemists).

It doesn't take very long to see the difference.

I started a thread a while ago asking people for their top cheap beauty tips (or tips on where to concentrate money). Some good tips there, apparently superdrug have a lot of good stuff.

Thanks saucetastic and TrillianAstra will take a look at those :-D

I'm not just looking for products but also a how to sort of thing

Tbh i have never done anything to pamper myself and quite frankly havent got a clue where to start...i dont even know how to file my nails when they've grown or which order you moisturise and cleanse ect and god knows what else to look nice and as for my feet.....well i just tend to not look at the poor abused things Blush

I am a complete novice and was never shown how to do these type of things, i barely wear make up and tend to stick to the same things as im not even sure how to apply it properly Blush

I'd much appreciate it if anyone would like to tell me how to do this stuff or point me in the direction of somewhere i could learn it...i have a baby girl now and when she's older i would like to be able to show her how to do this stuff....thanks :)

Bump for you, where are the style&beauty gurus?

For how-to, look at You Tube. Seriously, there is a video for everything on there.

You need two things for nice hands and feet - a good moisturiser (Aveeno is brilliant - not mega cheap but often on offer in Boots and it lasts for ages so very good value IMO) and a scrubbing brush. Cut your toenails short, then when you are in the shower use a bit of shower gels and give your feet and nails a really good scrub. Then moisturise once you're out of the shower.
They will look 10x better immediately and if you do it a couple of times a week then in a few weeks you will have nice feet.

Shower gel obviously. No need to have more than one!

use a 'pufball' thing in hte shower and moisturise all over after - i use a body butter from home bargains.
Tresemme shampoo and conditioner - lsts for ever.
A good hair cut is worht while.

Mineral foundation is great and No7 cream blusher my saviour.

Best beauty treatment for your hands and feet is Vaseline. Rub lots in at night and you'll notice a real difference in the morning.

Use pale colours on your nails until you get a little more confident applying varnish. The pale pink you get in French manicure sets is always a good choice as it makes nails look groomed and clean especially if you can get the hang of applying the white tips (I can't and just use the clear base coat and the pale colour).

For clear soft skin you need to exfoliate. I use one of these sponges with my usual Simple soap.

Instead of a full face of make-up why not try a tinted moisturiser? Much quicker too as you don't have to wait until your moisturiser has sunk in properly before applying foundation as it's two products in one. This No7 one gets great reviews. Then just sweep a brown mascara on your eyelashes for a wide awake look. I've recently swapped to this Rimmel lash accelerator mascara and can recommend it. It apparently nourishes your lashes and you should see longer lashes after 30 days use. £2.00 off at Boots at the moment too so a bargain!
