Shoe boots - what do we think?

I've always been a bit suspicious of shoe boots. I can be a bit slow to come round to trends (ie. often decide I like them just as they're going out of fashion).

But I was wondering about these.

What do we think? And would they look good with skirts/dresses or just trousers?

I like them.
I did read that if you wear shoe boots with skirts you should make sure they dip a little in the front (ie don't just go straight across) otherwise they make your legs look stumpy. Cant tell with those what they are like at the front.

Thanks

I have had my eye on the grey version of those but am still undecided....

RamblingRosa · 16/09/2010 12:45

I didn't see them in grey. That sounds nice.

traceybath · 16/09/2010 13:20

high but v flattering

RamblingRosa · 16/09/2010 13:35

Mmm, like the grey. I like the M&S ones a lot but I don't really like v high heels these days.

I like them a lot but am slightly worried that they will look like hooves on me.

niminypiminy · 16/09/2010 14:09

I too am worried about climbing onto a trend just as it disappears over the style horizon. But then I tried on a pair of these in M&S yesterday. I seem to remember they've been pilloried here before but honestly there were people walking across the shop to admire them and try them on themselves. I managed to leave without them (for financial reasons) but will probably have to get them anyway.

I bought some similar to the ones on the first link in Clarks last year, they are leather rather than suede though.

I wear them with both skirts and trousers, although if I'm wearing a skirt I wear opaque tights as that stops my legs looking quite so stumpy.

Ladyem · 16/09/2010 14:18

niminypiminy - I had a pair just like that about 14 years ago!! I'm now tempted again!!!

I love shoe boots and would love some to wear with skirts, but can never find any that look right round my ankles. Am liking the ones in the OP, though!! Might have to have a look on ASOS now!

What colour tights would you wear with the grey ones, then?

tethersend · 16/09/2010 14:22

I'd wear black opaques with them.

Fimbo · 16/09/2010 14:27

My dd has \link{http://direct.asda.com/george/shoes/ladies-shoes/boots/drop-side-heeled-boots/GEM46601,default,pd.html\these} she wears them with opaques and a puffball style dress.

RamblingRosa · 16/09/2010 14:33

I think I'd wear black with the grey too. Although other colours (maybe plum) would go well too.
