Silk tea dresses for winter?

Seems to be a craze at Kew and Jigsaw for silk dresses with no sleeves. Now if these had been available in the summer, I'd have snapped a couple up! Some beautiful fabrics and fitted styles which I like as I'm petite- my complaint all summer was that most dresses they had were like maternity smocks.

So, questions ladies- am I kidding myself that a dress plus a cardi will be warm in winter (I think the answer is yes). I work mainly from home and when I do see clients I tend to wear smart casual- the emphasis can either be casual or smart, depending on the day!

Next question is would you buy a silk sleeveless dress now in th ehope that you will stillwear it next spring/summer? I'm looking at dresses around £100 so it will be onlyone, and I'll consider it a fairly major purchase.

Yes I would buy it if you like it AND I would wear with ribbed knitted tights dolly shoes and a fluffy cardi when its cold

Could you wear them with a long sleeved top underneath?
