You can buy dye remover in boots. I am a hairdresser and was very sceptical, but found it good. Buy the colour you intended to go at the same time, do colour remover, then wash, dry and put on the correct colour. It's a good idea to choose a shade or two lighter than you want as it's easier to go darker if you want to afterwards. Also, in hairdressing terms, 'dark blonde' is what most people think is light brown, and so on, hence people often ending up darker than they'd like.

Re: hoem highlighting kits. The are OK, but cap highlights (which home kits are) tend to be quite uneven, plus if you don't leave the bleach on long enough, or your hair is very dark now, you risk ending up very brassy.

Yes, I have used it on myself, I was pleased with the results.

It might leave your hair a bit lighter but reddish/brassy looking, hence me suggesting you buy a lighter shade of brown to put on afterwards. I would suggest you go for '6' or '6.1' or even '6.0'. (I would choose the first two over the last, but all will be OK)

This is the colour remover:

midori-I could kiss you!!

Have reversed the colour and fab results. Don't need to put on another dye as I'm left with a auburn/brown which suits me...love it.

30odd minutes under the shower but well worth it.
Thanks
