I bought a dress whilst in Spain and was wondering what you all thought of the brand generally.

the difference in quality between their own stuff and the market stall desigual-alike stuff is very noticeable.

their coats are lovely though mostly the same shape.

the skirts are quite close cut and unforgiving of flabby tums and hips though.

Mine's made in India, not that that means anything much.

The dress is pretty flattering imo - usual unforgiving Euro sizing but I have magic tights.

Some of their stuff is waaaay too patterned, but I found this dress which should be with me shortly, really hoping it fits. Not too in-your-face, imo. Whaddya think?

cherylvole · 14/09/2010 15:08

IT IS GOPPING

BikeRunSki · 14/09/2010 15:09

LOL, I thought this was a baby name thread!

Never heard of the clothes.

flimflammum · 14/09/2010 15:10

Aha, I was wondering about starting a similar thread. I have recently bought a desigual skirt, but I live abroad, where it's not too ubiquitous. IMO a lot of their stuff can only be carried off if you have quite dark colouring and are tall, so I'm jealous of my six-foot Indian neighbour who looks stunning in it. I found one piece I thought I could get away with. And actually it's very good for flab-concealing as it has a wide waistband that holds it all in. I agree I don't like the name being plastered all over the place, though.

pagwatch · 14/09/2010 15:12

desingual is to arty what per una is to quirky

the idea of mass produced clothing being about individulity is dim. You can buy stufffrom all over and put it together in a way that is individual . But if someone is waering desigual it is about the clothes.

It is like declaring you have a sense of humour by having a joke plaque over your head
'you don't have to be mad to work here...but it helps'

BunnyLebowski · 14/09/2010 15:14

iwilldothis Screw the dress (only joking it's actually quite nice Smile) where are those boots from eh???

I want em!

flimflammum · 14/09/2010 15:17

I didn't know it was supposed to be arty or individual. Just that it's definintely 'bold', as in not subtle. But better than armies of blue jeans and muted single colour tops.

pagwatch · 14/09/2010 15:19

I agree but then I don't wear jeans

iwilldothis · 14/09/2010 15:20

bunny....yeah, I'll be on the lookout for boots just like that if the dress fits me :)

AbsofCroissant · 14/09/2010 15:29

I find it confusing. I'm not sure I like it to be honest

brimfull · 14/09/2010 15:31

it takes boden hotchpotch theme to an extreme

upahill · 14/09/2010 15:38

No I don't like it. There is a shop in Chester where I used to shop as a teenager called Lee Louise and it looks like stuff out of there.

I out grow that stuff 25 years ago!

upahill · 14/09/2010 15:40

Oh my God!! I meant 30years ago!!!!!!!
