I just got some treggings/jeggings from M&Co in their petite range (mandco.com). I sometimes find M&Co a bit hit and miss (used to pop into one in town until it closed down) but am really pleased to finally have some treggingy things that are the right length, otherwise I end up with crop ones that sometimes go funny under boots.

I am 4'11 and a cello shape (almost hourglass but without the tiny waist)- but definately got the bigger boobs and bottom...

So I wear:

  • I love patterns but they need to be smaller rather than larger as a few of you have mentioned
  • belts that tuck me in at the waist
  • straight skirts
  • lots of cardigans that end just on the hip
  • v-neck jumpers
  • scarves
  • I loathe fitted pants so I tend to wear flared pants and a heel if I feel up to it.

The piece of clothing that I find the hardest to shop for is pants/trousers/jeans. Its a nightmare. So finally after 31 years I have found what works for me. Both were recommended to me funnily enough:

I also love second hand shopping at markets etc and I love tearing apart handmedowns to make them fit a bit better - have not quite mastered this yet (have wrecked some stuff Blush but am learning as I go

Am wearing this today - very good lenght and flattering for petite ladies.

I ( 5'2" 8-10,) use quite a mix of shops as well - mail order and local shops that stock smaller sizes. Next and Wallace petite jeans fit well, many other petite trousers are too short. All Saints tops dresses and knitware have such quirky shapes that play with proportions, so can work well. I have a few pieces from there. Uniquo (although the sizes are quite variable) for basics which seem to be cut shorter, Fatface dresses ( have a shop locally) small sizes and lots of dress length on me tunics. Limited Collection in M+S have shorter skirts and dresses.
It is much easier now - beats buying kids clothes!!

Ooh Tracey, that's nice. Damn you though for being able to wear horizontal stripes Envy.

traceybath, I like that dress, although I don't normally go for stripes the shape is lovely. May have to go and try it on. I also saw this lovely too
